America’s Got Talent will be back on NBC this summer, and we can’t wait to see the impressive performers who make their way to the competition.
On Monday, the network confirmed that the highly anticipated 19th season will debut on Tuesday, May 28, at 8/7c.
Once again, Simon Cowell will lead the search for the next wave of performers alongside returning judges Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, and Sofia Vergara.
Terry Crews will continue as host, and NBC promises we’ll see some of the “wildest acts” ever to appear on the show.
There will likely be a hiatus after the auditions conclude due to NBC’s commitment to airing the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The good news is that the network has already revealed when we can expect the live shows to get underway.

Hollywood strikes set television back, but audiences came back even stronger despite the delays.
Many shows break even or have even increased ratings from the 2022-2023 season.
Here's a look at some of the best of the season so far.
Winners of the 2024 Television Season
Several shows are doing well this season, even if viewership is down from last season.
Grey's Anatomy's latest season debuted with 3.6 million viewers, up from 3.3 million last season. Though some believe that the series is worth letting go of, it's clear that there's still a fanbase excited to watch and stream the show.
Earlier this year, Grey's Anatomy placed 4 out of 10 for the most streamed show on Nielsen, so there's still a huge audience out there for the hospital drama.
Abbott Elementary is down 4% from last year but still pulling 3.78 million viewers. However, that number doesn't include streaming numbers.

The Chicago Fire cast has a new paramedic working with Violet Mikami.
Following Sylvie Brett’s exit from Firehouse 51, Violet has to be assigned a new partner on Ambulance 61.
Actress Kara Killmer played Brett for years but has now moved on to other things.
Kara teased what’s next for her in a new interview.
But the show must go on. And that means Violet has to have someone sitting next to her on medical calls.
The showrunner previously revealed that there are bumps ahead, and she also hinted that Violet could have several new people who try to fill Brett’s shoes.

Casey's departure in Chicago Fire season 12 marks the end of a dynamic duo with Severide, leaving room for new characters to shine. Carver and Gibson emerge as potential successors to Severide and Casey, bonding over shared experiences and laying the groundwork for a strong friendship. The evolving relationships at Firehouse 51 set the stage for potential exits and new beginnings, hinting at a possible changing of the guard in the future.
Kelly Severide and Matt Casey's perfect team-up replacement is introduced in Chicago Fire season 12 before Jesse Spencer's final appearance. Despite officially exiting in Chicago Fire season 10, original cast member Spencer continued to return as Casey at Firehouse 51, primarily because of his lingering romance with Sylvie Brett. On the heels of the pair's wedding in Chicago Fire season 12, episode 6, "Port in the Storm," Casey no longer has any reason to return to Chicago, at least in the foreseeable future.

Goodbye Kara Killmer, hello Wesam Keesh as Firehouse 51's new paramedic in Chicago Fire season 12 episode 8. Kara Killmer's departure prompts Violet's promotion, leading to potential conflicts with the new paramedic, Lennox. Lennox's future on Chicago Fire remains uncertain, depending on his dynamic with Violet.
Sylvie Brett's Firehouse 51 is officially introduced in a new Chicago Fire season 12 image. Kara Killmer has officially exited the series, which was set up in her engagement with Matt Casey in the Chicago Fire season 11 finale. Her departure from Chief Bodebn's tight-knit team has been difficult, especially for people with whom she had worked closely in the last decade. That being said, Firehouse 51 must continue, and one way to do that is to debut Killmer's replacement.
NBC releases a new image for Chicago Fire season 12, episode 8, "All The Dark," which introduces Wesam Keesh as Jared Lennox — the newest Firehouse 51 paramedic. As seen in the promotional still below,...

It’s hard to imagine Ambulance 61 without Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) after she’s been a staple there since Season 3. But now, Chicago Fire, in its 12th season, is moving forward without her—in Killmer’s last episode, Brett married Casey (Jesse Spencer) and moved with him to Portland—and that means someone has to join Violet (Hanako Greensmith). A photo for the March 27 episode, “All the Dark,” shows Wesam Keesh as Lennox, working alongside Violet (check it out above), and Dick Wolf fans will recognize him: He played hacker Malachi on Law & Order: Organized Crime! Through Svu‘s crossovers with One Chicago, Fire and Organized Crime are technically in the same universe, but he’d be far from the first person to play multiple characters across Dick Wolf shows (or on the same one!). But is Lennox sticking around? As executive producer Andrea Newman told TV Insider ahead of Season 12’s premiere,...

Taking over the prosecutor’s office for “Law & Order” in Season 23, the steely actor is set to debut District Attorney Nicholas Baxter on the revived legal drama Thursday, March 14 at 8 p.m. Et. The character introduction comes just two weeks after Sam Waterston stepped down as the legendary Jack McCoy. For his final appearance at NBC in Episode 4 “The Last Dance,” the iconic Da sacrificed his reelection campaign to fight corruption in the mayor’s office. Leaving his post after 30 years, McCoy assured his colleagues that the next Da would be an even stronger legal mind.
Replacing Waterston won’t be easy. The 83-year-old’s retirement from the series created a major vacancy in TV’s most famous police procedural. And that’s a genre already difficult to keep compelling in an increasingly divided America. “Law & Order” is still doing well in the ratings,...

The six months of labor action in Hollywood last summer and fall led to a host of network series having to shorten their seasons, with premieres four to five months later than their usual fall spots. The good news, though, is that viewers didn’t abandon their favorites: Viewer totals for a host of shows are on par with or better than their 2022-23 averages. A couple of newcomers have put up strong showings, and an unscripted stalwart is growing, too. (All ratings figures are Nielsen live +7 averages through March 4.)
Abbott Elementary (ABC)
3.78M viewers | Down 4% from 2022-23.
The Emmy-winning comedy has dipped in linear ratings this season, though it’s a modest decline. The audience hasn’t gone away so much as switched to platforms outside the reach of Nielsen’s linear ratings. Per ABC, the show frequently doubles its first-night audience after three days of cross-platform viewing, with...

As a result, Chicago Med had to have a shortened season and the need for larger gaps between some episodes. There will apparently be 13 episodes this season, and we’ve only had 6 episodes air so far.

Chicago P.D., Chicago Fire, and Chicago Med are Wednesday's most-watched dramas for a reason. They're full to the brim with heartache, comedy, and all the drama anyone could ask for. But what makes them so special among fans? The characters. A character has to resonate with viewers to leave an impact. It can be a small or significant part of a character's development that grips viewers and makes them go, "Hey, I like this person." But in some way or another, they have to connect with the viewers.

Chicago Fire is one of NBC’s best TV shows on the air, along with companion shows Chicago Med and Chicago P.D.

You may have noticed that the new season began with four weeks of new episodes followed by a re-run, then two new episodes, and then more reruns. The last new episode we saw was on February 28, 2024.
Unfortunately, there won’t be another new episode until March 20, 2024. There will be new episodes on March 20, March 27, and April 3, TV Line reports. The reason why the schedule is so on-and-off is because of the strikes that happened last year. Both the...

Brian Tee left Chicago Med to star in Prime Video's Expats, portraying Clarke whose child goes missing. Tee found the transition from network TV to streaming natural and was drawn to the heavy role. Expats' open ending imitates real life and leaves room for audience interpretation of what happens next.
Warning: Spoilers for the Expats season finale. After 136 episodes of portraying Ethan Choi on Chicago Med, Brian Tee opted to leave the NBC series to explore other opportunities and stretch his creative muscles. He has since taken on the part of Clarke in Prime Video's limited series, Expats, which dropped its final installment on February 23. The character is unique to the actor's other roles, as the show focuses on the aftermath of his child's disappearance and the toll that unsolved cases take on the families of missing persons.
Tee was featured in several episodes of Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. before exiting the Chicago franchise.

Hey, "Chicago Fire" fans. Unfortunately, we're back in your faces with some not-so-great news to share with you because the folks over at NBC have decided not to air the next, new episode 7 of Chicago Fire season 12 tonight, March 6, 2024. If that's not enough, they also aren't airing it next Wednesday night, March 13, 2024. That's right, guys. NBC doesn't intend to air the next, new episode 7 of this current season 12 until Wednesday night, March 20, 2024 in its usual, 8 pm central standard time slot. So, certainly be sure to remember that very important date and time if you can. In the meantime, we did find out what NBC is filling Chicago Fire's empty time slot with tonight and next Wednesday night. According to the TV guide listings, NBC is going to dish up some repeat episodes of Chicago Fire. Tonight, they're re-airing the 2nd episode of this season 12 titled, "Call Me McHolland."...

Chicago Fire Season 12 was late due to two Hollywood strikes.
Rather than the new episodes arriving in September or October, the season premiere aired in January.
Pushing back the premiere date will mean fewer episodes can debut during this television season.
Instead of having 22 to 24 new episodes, Chicago Fire Season 12 will only have 13. At least it’s something because the months with no new content were brutal.
Unfortunately, breaks are needed within the schedule to allow additional filming, even with a shorter season.
That’s why Chicago Fire has a new hiatus underway that will last deep into March.
Is Chicago Fire new tonight?
March 6 and 13 will feature repeat episodes from Chicago Fire Season 12.
On March 6, NBC will re-air Call Me McHolland. That was Chicago Fire Season 12, Episode 2, and featured Mouch trying to change his nickname. It also had Ritter pushing Herrmann to see a hearing doctor after he saved...

Why are stars missing from Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago P.D. episodes? Here’s your answers
Fans of One Chicago tuning in to new episodes of Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago P.D. have noticed something odd.
Some fan-favorite characters have been missing episodes, leading to questions about their futures on the shows.
It might surprise some viewers that this is all part of a plan behind the scenes at One Chicago.
It’s expensive to film primetime dramas with large ensemble casts. Each One Chicago show relies on many people to film new episodes.
Chicago Fire has the biggest cast of the group, with many characters working out of Firehouse 51. And the salaries add up quickly.
Chicago P.D. fans also likely noticed that the writers used excuses about why characters are missing each week – like training, furloughing, or spending time with a family member. That’s in the plans.

Chicago – The names “Tj & Dave” are legion in the Chicago entertainment scene. The improvisation duo – T.J. Jagodowski and David Pasquesi – are improv performers who heighten the status of the city as a comedic destination. Now they’re featured in a indie TV pilot that will premiere at SXSW 2024 entitled “Bettendorf Talks.”
The show – produced by Shane Simmons and directed by Jack C. Newell – is a sharp and smart “show within a show” and a workplace comedy regarding the newest (and most unlikely) local talk show to come out of the titular Midwestern Quad City. Hosted by the “has been” comedy duo T.J. Jagodowski and David Pasquesi (who star as caricatures of themselves), the two attempt to mount a hit show in search of a sliver in their former glory. Other featured performers include Tim Kazurinsky, Sadieh Rifal, Brian King. Cassie Kramer, Nnamdi Ngwe, Emma Pope and Ike Reilly.

Chicago P.D. is now on hiatus after an episode focusing on Hank Voight.
Voight was reminded of his son several times that night, beginning with a bartender giving him an old picture of Justin.
The victim in the case also reminded Voight of his son, leading to him putting in extra work to close it.
Though Voight wasn’t able to figure out who kidnapped and tortured a boy named Noah, viewers learned in the final scene that Voight had Noah living with him.
Chicago P.D. will likely address the case again later, but it won’t be until weeks after the ongoing hiatus at NBC.
Even though the One Chicago shows finally returned this winter after missing many months, the shows are taking a long break in March.

The first rule of comedy is: “If you can get a dog, put him in the sketch.” It’s a rule as true now as it was when I made it up just a moment ago, but also a rule that Saturday Night Live knows quite well.
Following SNL‘s new trend of weirdly specific ’90s movie references (a Forrest Gump sketch in 2024?), “Air Bud” features guest host Sydney Sweeney as a cheerleader trying to boost her popularity by dating the star basketball player, who just happens to be… a golden retriever.

Chicago Fire aired Kara Killmer’s final episode, ending her run as paramedic Sylvie Brett.
It was an emotional night for the show, with Brett and Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) possibly leaving Chicago for good.
But the door remains open for them to guest star on future episodes, much like Jesse has done since his first exit in Season 10.
Brett’s story was wrapped up well. The writers gave her a husband, a baby, and the hope of continuing her work in the medical field.
Likewise, Casey found happiness again, has a new baby, and is part of a family in their Portland home.
Jesse Spencer wrote a goodbye message for Kara Killmer, noting how much he enjoyed working with her. And while he left Chicago Fire to spend time with his family, Kara may have other plans.
It was also good to see Amelia again during the Brettsey wedding.

Michael Brant praises Kara Killmer for her long run on Chicago Fire, calling her a stabilizing force after Lauren German's departure. Chicago Fire franchise maintains a family atmosphere, according to Brant, with a responsibility to portray first responders authentically. Chicago Fire's strength lies in its characters and the friendships within Firehouse 51.
Chicago Fire fans were left in tears earlier this week as actress Kara Killmer said farewell to Firehouse 51, with paramedic Sylvie Brett marrying her fiancé Matt Casey and departing for a life in Portland with her new family. Although fans have been upset to see Killmer say her goodbyes, series creator and writer Michael Brandt believes that her departure was really just a natural progression for the series.

A love rectangle is brewing between Hannah, Dean, Ripley, and an unknown woman in Chicago Med season 9. The show previously failed with a love triangle involving Hannah and Dean in season 8, making the new storyline unlikely to succeed. The romance between Hannah and Dean in season 9 is a bad idea due to a lack of chemistry and tired Hollywood tropes.
To call Chicago Med a soap opera wouldn't be a far stretch, given its various complicated love stories over its nine seasons, but an upcoming love rectangle is a frustrating new development for the show. The NBC medical drama series, created by Dick Wolf and Matt Olmstead, premiered as a spin-off of Chicago Fire and Chicago Pd and became the third television show in the One Chicago franchise. The doctor-focused offshoot of the franchise certainly isn't the best one, but it's dramatic and entertaining, albeit occasionally unbelievable. Unfortunately, an upcoming...

Law & Order is one of the most popular media franchises created by Dick Wolf. Consisting of seven related shows so far, the Law & Order franchise has introduced several iconic characters to audiences throughout the years. One of its most popular spin-offs, Special Victims Unit, is currently the longest-running primetime U.S. live-action series in the history of television.
While each show has its own unique story within the Law & Order universe, characters from different spin-offs have crossed paths several times. Viewers have enjoyed several crossover episodes, sometimes even with shows outside the Law & Order franchise. And while some crossovers have been in the form of small cameos or guest appearances, others stand out for having characters from different series working together on some difficult cases.

The following contains major spoilers for Chicago Pd Season 11, Episode 6, "Survival," which debuted Wednesday, February 28 on NBC. It also contains discussion of violence.
Chicago Pd has endured a lot of criticism in recent years -- and not without reason. Much of it has fallen on character of Hank Voight, who's become a prime example of what people mean when they refer to "copaganda." The no holds barred approach to policing has divided viewers, with some feeling that Voight is problematic and others considering him as just entertainment. But that hasn't been the only issue with Voight. Sometimes, he just hasn't been interesting.
Voight was a dynamic character when he originally appeared on Chicago Fire to menace Matthew Casey, and he's always been the driving force of both the Intelligence Unit and Chicago Pd as a whole. Jason Beghe is more than capable of tearing through scenes. But Voight's arc since...

The following contains major spoilers for Chicago Fire Season 12, Episode 6, "Port in the Storm," which debuted Wednesday, February 28 on NBC.
Chicago Fire Season 12, Episode 6 delivers what fans had been bracing themselves for since Season 11: Kara Killmer's exit from the NBC series. Rumors of Killmer's Sylvie Brett leaving had circulated since 2022, and then when Brett's ex-boyfriend Matthew Casey showed up on her doorstep to pop the question, One Chicago viewers were fairly certain the character was on her way out. That theory was confirmed before Season 12 premiered -- leaving the audience to just wait for the plot to catch up with the off-screen news.
"Port in the Storm" delivers the one-two punch of both Brett and Casey's wedding, and Brett's final shift at Firehouse 51. It's clearly structured to be the biggest sendoff possible. The episode is written by showrunner Andrea Newman and directed by executive producer Reza Tabrizi -- both longtime Chicago Fire creatives.

Brett and Casey exited Chicago Fire in season 12, leaving a void in the popular romantic storyline. Carver and Violet's relationship is filling the gap left by Brett & Casey, with their romance heating up. Chicago Fire season 12 continues to explore new relationships while bidding goodbye to beloved characters.
Chicago Fire viewers had to bid farewell to one of the show's most developed relationships in season 12, but during the same episode, a new romance proved they could replace the recently departed couple. Anchor Bay Entertainment has acquired worldwide rights to “Daddy,” a sci-fi film that will be released in 2024.
The news comes as Anchor Bay is being relaunched after Umbrelic Entertainment chiefs Thomas Zambeck and Brian Katz bought the company’s trademark. Anchor Bay was included in Starz’s 2016 sale to Lionsgate. Under Zambeck and Katz, Anchor Bay is looking to release genre films and cult favorites.
In the case of “Daddy,” the movie was co-written and co-directed by Neal Kelley and Jono Sherman in their feature debut. It stars Yuriy Sardarov (“Chicago Fire”), Jacqueline Toboni (“The L Word: Generation Q”), Pomme Koch (“WeCrashed“) and Britt Baron (“Glow”).
The film is set in a dystopian society where the state has the power to determine who can and cannot father children. Four men attend a government-mandated retreat in the remote mountains of California. When they arrive, there’s no guide or instructions waiting for them.

The Chicago Fire wedding for Matt Casey and Sylvie Brett finally happened.
It was a family affair, with Firehouse 51 making up many attendants.
The Darden boys were there, Kelly Severide returned to be Casey’s best man, and Brett’s new baby had a front-row seat.
One scene even focused on the son of Joe Cruz, whom he named after their fallen firefighter friend Otis.
The small nod to Otis was nice, as was having Trudy Platt (Mouch’s wife) in attendance to celebrate Brettsey.
Amelia was even there, standing near a fish tank during the wedding. But not every Chicago Fire fan remembered who she was.
Who is Amelia on Chicago Fire?
Amelia is the daughter of Sylvie Brett’s biological mother. Her mother, Julie, died in childbirth. Since then, Brett has tried to be involved in Amelia’s life.
Amelia is Brett’s maternal half-sister. Though there is a considerable age difference,...

Everything that makes Chicago Fire Chicago Fire was celebrated for the wedding episode, and we wouldn't want it any other way.
As frantic as everything seemed going into the bachelorette party and while building up to the wedding, it went off without a hitch.
A wedding in a fish store is unique and hard to plan for, but every detail fell into place right up until they said I do.
Tony didn't understand why they were calling it a "fish store" wedding with some derision when...
