Interview: Sean Patrick Leonard, on World Premiere of ‘Rockabye’ at Twister Alley Film Festival

12 hours ago | HollywoodChicago.com | See recent HollywoodChicago.com news »

Chicago – The sudden drama of tragic death is beautifully rendered in a new short film called “Rockabye,” a Chicago-based production directed by David Bradburn and written/performed in by Sean Patrick Leonard. The World Premiere of the film will take place at the Twister Alley International Film Festival in Woodward, Oklahoma, on April 29th, 2017.

The film centers on John (Leonard), who through his injuries has obviously been a part of a severe trauma. It is revealed that his beloved wife died in an automobile accident on her 39th birthday, leaving behind the injured-but-alive John – who was the driver of the car – to soldier on with their two children. Trying to cope with the loss and his new situation is a struggle for the now single father, and the sensitivity toward the difficult process of life after a tragic event is revealed.

Canceled or Renewed?: Take the Quiz to Find Out Whether Your Favorite Show Will Survive

16 hours ago | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

For shows on the bubble, survival comes down to one thing: Money.

If you’re generating solid revenue for the network, then other concerns can be addressed down the road. But if your ratings are low (honestly, that’s almost every show these days), your creative is weak and executive support is wavering… then you better at least be owned by the network and bringing in nice international or streaming dollars.

“Every show is its own little business,” said one network scheduling executive. “You look at each and its profit or loss at the end of the year.”

Added a rival network exec: “The strategy is, how can we make the most money from all of our assets? [Renewal] discussions these days are very different.”

Chicago Fire Season 5 Episode 19 recap: The one that broke our hearts

Chicago Fire returned last night with a strong, classic episode. Even though we are five seasons in, they still manage to catch me off guard and punch me in the gut when I’m least expecting it. And that is exactly why I fell in love with this show in the first place, and binge watched it like a mad woman earlier this year. “Carry Their Legacy” started out as a just alright episode. Dawson and Brett were in training, Severide was pining over Anna’s sudden disappearance and the Truck 81 team got a hilarious call from crazy dude who thought...read more »

Chicago Fire Season 5 Episode 19 Review: Carry Their Legacy

26 April 2017 2:58 AM, PDT | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

A blast from the past for Casey was never going to end with two old friends catching up of beers at Molly's. Poor Kannell on showed up on Chicago Fire Season 5 Episode 19 so that he could go through an extremely traumatic experience, get himself in deep trouble, and have Matt save his ass.

Such is the fate of a recurring guest character.

Meeting Casey childhood friend was nice, even if I'm not super into the path that story is headed down. Like Kidd, I'm much more interested in what Kannall can tell us about a certain Alderman's childhood than I am in his survivor's guilt.

We know that Matt's mother went to jail for murdering his  abusive father, presumably while Matt was a teenager. I don't recall there being mention of who raised him after that, or how he handled such upheaval.

Based on Kannall's comments about Casey being the »

One of the hardest things a human being can do is to gather the strength to be there for another person when they are at their lowest strength. Chicago Fire does that everytime they walk into a building to rescue someone. When it’s someone they love it’s a whole other matter. You can tell the strength of a person’s character by how they choose to stick by the people they love when they are in pain. Casey and Severide have to gather their strength to support the people they love in their darkest hours. Connie comes back from break, making

The internet may be a useful everyday tool that we take for granted, but at its core, it has the power to be devastating and deadly. It’s been a good while since we’ve had an update from Dark/Web, but when it rains it pours!
