Chicago Fire Review: Feeling Important

1 hour ago | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

Chicago Fire always does what they can to help where they can. The point is not to assume that in this line of work you can help everyone, but that you do your best and hope that fate, or God, or whatever you believe in takes care of the rest. There’s one thing we should all believe. Heroes are not made, they are built. Acts large and small with no expectations of gratitude in return are what makes a hero. Dawson has to teach a guy who doesn’t understand that a lesson. I love Stella and Herrmann, but if the

Chicago Fire Season 5 Episode 17 Review: Babies and Fools

3 hours ago | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

Thank god that's over.

Not the guy throwing cement off of bridges (terrible, sure), or mopey Otis (definitely painful). No, it was Chicago Fire Season 5 Episode 17's continuous use of "portapotty" and "portatoilet" that was killing me.

I hate those words. Couldn't they have gone with the classier "portalet"?

Despite the unfortunate word choice, "Babies and Fools" was really solid. Sure, Gabby was becoming a little obsessed, but that's just Gabby. Honestly, it's a shame her job at the arson investigators office didn't pan out. She's got the chops for it.

With Gabby throwing herself into danger as a way to deal with her own emotions about the state of her and Matt's "family," I can't help but wonder if another pregnancy is in their future.

I'm also left wondering if Gabby and Matt are still on the same page about things.

On the surface, Matt's response to her inquiry was very sweet, »

Chicago Fire Review: 51 Is Held Captive

Five seasons in Chicago Fire is always searching for new, intense stories to tell. Because the franchise is the firehouse, most stories center around it and the job. That doesn’t mean that once in awhile they can’t pull out a tale that has nothing to do with fighting fires. Some of the best, most relatable plots are the ones which could happen anywhere, at any time. It just so happens that firefighters are trained to handle high pressure situations, so the likelihood of impulsive moves driven by panic goes down significantly. TV Ratings: ‘The Voice’ Wins, ‘Trial & Error’ Slips

22 March 2017 8:57 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Two networks mostly in repeats made for a quiet, predictable evening in Nielsen’s preliminary fast national ratings.

NBC’s mockumentary series “Trial & Error” took its place in the 9 p.m. slot and slid from its premiere last week. The first episode of a double header drew a 1.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic and brought in an average audience of 5.39 million; the second came in at a 1.1 demo rating and 4.36 million. (Last week’s post-“This Is Us” double header started with a 1.4 and ended with a 1.0.) “The Voice” led into the comedy with a 2.2 in the demo and 10.69 million viewers, down a few ticks in the demo from the same night last year. “Chicago Fire” brought in a 1.5 in the demo and 7.1 million viewers.

On Fox, “New Girl” weighed in with a 0.8 in the demo and 1.98 million viewers on the whole. “The Mick” also notched a 0.8, and attracted an audience of 2.23 million. And »

Hearts broke all around the world when Taylor Kinney and Lady Gaga called off their engagement last July. While the singer has since moved on with her agent, Christian Carino, it seems like the Chicago Fire actor is simply focusing on his career. "My dating life is through Chicago Fire," he told Entertainment Tonight about the state of his love life. "I live vicariously through my character. I don't think I have a type. I think it's more of an energy. I think of compatibility as the intangibles of something, and someone that you meet and connect with, and someone you can laugh with, and maybe share a [similar] sense of humor, then things go from there." Even though the pair are no longer together, they are still very close. Since ending their five-year relationship, Gaga has had nothing but nice things to say about her ex, calling him her "best friend. »

Chicago Fire Season 5 Episode 16 Review: Telling Her Goodbye

21 March 2017 11:52 PM, PDT | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

Even if they're not fighting fires, Firehouse 51 stays cool under pressure.

When a local gang loosely affiliated young men with a long list of grievances took shelter at the house on Chicago Fire Season 5 Episode 16, Kelly got to practice his ninja skills, Stella was a badass, and Boden saw a kid that needed saving.

This may not have been the most important episode to the overall mythology of the #OneChicago world, but damn if it wasn't exciting. It's always nice to see the writing team try something different.

It did feel weird that there were no fires being battled, or people getting cut out of cars, or hanging off of buildings. But it was a good example of how the firefighters are heroes in every aspect of their lives.

And the hour didn't lack for drama despite missing it's usual pyrotechnics. Have the regular cast of characters be the ones »

'Chicago Fire' Star Taylor Kinney on Severide's New Romance: "He's Done Playing the Field"

During Chicago Fire's five seasons of deaths, departures and many "Dawsey" breakups, one of the few things viewers could count on was Severide's eventful love life.

The Firehouse 51 lieutenant has always been known for his playboy ways, moving from one love interest to another at warp speed. Even when he (briefly) tied the knot in season three, it was to a woman he had just met in Las Vegas. (Suffice it to say, the marriage didn't last.)

However, the fifth season of the NBC drama has seen a major change in Kelly. After a bit of an existential crisis, »
