One Two One
yavar-ghah24 February 2012
A love triangle's games are played under the discreet veil of electronic communications when text messages and cell phone calls stand in for intimacy in this contemporary tale of tangled relationships. Avantgarde artist/filmmaker Akbari (20 FINGERS, 10 + 4), star of Kiarostami's TEN, focuses on the body as a sometimes deceptive facade for the soul in an unusual narrative of close encounters through overheard calls and one-on-one disclosures. A woman struggles with the catastrophic blow to her beauty caused by her lover's car wreck, against a background of urban mating dances. By:Barbara Bridge Denver Film Festival

One Two One.. in few words!
xerxes-rs14 March 2012
In One. Two. One, the entanglements between a woman, three men and other figures are slowly revealed in dialogue and monologue scenes. Expectations, projections and the relationship between the sexes are expressed by means of desire, self-affirmation and the wish to possess. Couples meet before and after their separation: a dizzying merry-go-round.

For her second long feature film One. Two. One, Mania Akbari chose a special, uncompromising form consisting of long takes followed by static shots, in which the protagonists' discussions and facial expressions form the focus of attention. The complex and contradictory relationships between the various protagonists are revealed frame by frame.

Mania Akbaris best film so far
Sohrab200012 May 2012
A very good movie about relationships. strong women who decide about their fate.

At the beginning of the movie, you see these women on a massage table. In the various separate scenes one encounters various women's fates. It is common to all these women in a traditional society that are fighting for their rights.

Good movie by good players and fine directing. All these details has led to Mania Akbaris best film so far.

Many scenes does not lead to anything but themselves. This is perhaps a reminder of life. That our life is also an incomplete project. The film also highlights a global problem, namely, relationships. It seems that the men of March does not know how to treat women from Venus. This problem can clearly been shown in this great film by Mania Akbari.
