Storyline

As Ted and Victoria are about to run off together, Ted convinces Victoria that she needs to leave a note for her fiancé Klaus to give him some closure on the situation. But leaving that note is not as easy as Victoria going back to the church. Ultimately to help Victoria, Ted may have to overcome a childhood phobia. Meanwhile, Quinn, who does not have a lot of what she considers close girl friends, asks Robin and Lily to stand up for her when she and Barney get married. This request brings up the fact that Quinn has no idea that Robin and Barney used to date, which Barney has no intention of ever telling her. In fact, Barney has managed to erase all history of his and Robin's romantic past. Sleep deprived new parents Marshall and Lily, and some deep seated beliefs of Klaus' will directly and indirectly affect what happens between both Ted and Victoria, and between Barney and Quinn. Trivia

The word that Klaus keeps saying is "lebenslanger Schicksalschatz" (would actually be two words in German) and does literally mean "lifelong treasure of destiny". However, this is not a standard phrase in German. See more »

Quotes

Klaus: Victoria is wunderbar, but she is not my "Lebenslanger Schicksalsschatz." She's my "Beinahe-Leidenschaftsgegenstand"... it means the thing that is almost the thing that you want, but it's not quite. That is Victoria to me.
Ted Mosby: How do you know she's not "Lebenslanger Schicksalsschatz?" Maybe as the years go by she'll get "Lebenslanger Schicksalsschatz... ier?"
Klaus: "Lebenslanger Schicksalsschatz" is not something that develops over time. It is something that happens instantaneously. It courses through ...

Excellent episode!! 10 out of 10!
25 September 2012 | by See all my reviews

An amazing episode for season 8 premiere!! I laughed a lot, the German groom was great, it was hilarious with the German words!

The part with Lily and Marshell was really good and the fish and the guy with the scuba diving suit was very funny, reminded me of that episode where Barny tries to pull a stunt to get girls "The Scuba Diver".

And the end of the episode where you see the mother, it shows that the show is about to end and I believe Ted will meet her at the end of this season, and I hope that they will end it that way (and not continue with showing them dating) because it will just ruin the concept of the show.

I'm looking forward to next week's episode, I have a feeling this season is going to be great, way better than last.
