- When Hicks turns defector and beginning working for Parish, Rosen and the team can only wonder: has Hicks truly turned, or is he playing a deeper game involving Dani?
- Open with Rosen flashing to a conversation with Dani. She signs a plea agreement saying she will become a spy for the government.
We then see Rosen tell the team that he's having trouble reaching Dani and is worried she's in trouble. He clearly never told the rest of the team about Dani's deal and Hicks is furious that he put her in harm's way. It was the only way to keep her out of Building 7, but Hicks thinks it was too risky.
TWO WEEKS LATER
We see what looks like a theft of some kind. The team is there to stop and it seems like Hicks is in the crime.
Hicks has left the team and the gang isn't sure why, though they suspect it's Dani-related.
We see Hicks with Scipio.
What was stolen was a type of electric grenade capable of killing hundreds of people in one detonation. Rosen tells the team finding these grenades is job No. 1, even ahead of finding Hicks and Dani.
Back to Hicks telling asking Scipio for a face-to-face with Parish, feeling like he deserves it for helping get his "little toys." Scipio says that first Hicks will have to do something. He is introduced to Agnes, who ties him to a chair and says that when she touches someone it "rips open their mind." She touches his head and he begins screaming. She sees images of Hicks interacting with Dani.
Harken asks Gary to look into the robbery.
Hicks finally gets his audience with Parish, who says it's not possible for him to see Dani right now. Parish says he's keeping Dani safe until he's sure where her loyalties lie. He adds "welcome aboard, Mr. Hicks."
Rosen tells Nina that whatever happens to Dani and Hicks, "it's my responsibility."
Parish tell Dani about having Hicks. She asks him not to hurt him, and he says he's there to give her one last chance to change his mind. He's talking about wiping the slate clean, essentially killing lots of people. She says she's with him, but he needs to know for sure and says Agnes will be calling on her.
Harken and Gary have realized that Nina helped Hicks get away from the robbery.
Parish tells Agnes he needs to know what Dani told her father. Before Agnes can begin Hicks break in and stops her. Agnes needs to know how she didn't see what he was up to and touches his face. We see Nina helped disguise his true plans from Agnes. Agnes is so impressed she gives them a ten-minute head start. Outside Dani tells Hicks that Parish owns a shipping company, which will probably be part of his plan.
Rosen tells the team that Parish is planning some of sort of device that will combine all of the grenades.
Dani and Hicks are grabbed by Scipio and one of his buddies. An alpha comes in and whispers something to Hicks, which causes him to grab a gun and place it under his own chin. At this moment Harken, Nina and Rachel arrive to save the day, though Scipio manages to escape.
Hicks chases Scipio down, disabling his van using a motorcycle. The grenade has been turned into an IED of some kind. With the bomb squad running late Gary works to turn off the power, which should limit the bomb's power. In order to buy even more time Dani calls Parish and tells him she's standing next to the bomb. While they talk, Parish's assistant notices the grid being shut down. With Dani now alone in the van, Parish detonates the device.
The bomb doesn't serve its full purpose, but Parish says "It did what we needed. It has begun."
Rosen rushes to Dani, who is barely conscious. She struggles for breath and Rosen tells her he loves her. Nina tries to help, but it's too late. Dani dies.
