I just finished watching this film and I think it does an excellent job at exploring a side of Obama that we, as a Western society, have a difficult time understanding: Anti-Colonialism.
The filmmaker simply posits that the reason we should be concerned for a second Obama term isn't because of Obama's questionable birthplace. Actually, the film claims he was born in Hawaii going so far as to mention it was written about in two local papers. It doesn't really have to deal with Obama's overall ideology (whether its socialism, communism, benevolent dictatorship, macro capitalism, Black Liberation Theology or somewhere in between). What the filmmaker is attempting to do is take the angle that maybe this has to do with ideas he learned over the years that have to do with his methods of governing.
It's a very insightful film drawing on those who knew the president, those who are supportive of him and those who are not. It even uses Obama's reading excerpts from "Dreams from my Father." I enjoyed it and I think you will too.
My question to all of the reviewers that give it such low ratings is: what exactly did you not like about the film? There's no claim Obama was born outside the US, there's no claim that because he's black he's incompetent, there's no real claim outrightly that he's a socialist. What is it specifically that you hate about this movie???
