Back in the Day -- Jim Owens (Michael Rosenbaum) is an aspiring actor in Hollywood whose only claim to fame is being the face of a series of insurance commercials. With his tail between his legs and not too excited about his future in Los Angeles, he decides to go back home to Indiana for his high school reunion.
Reliving the glory days with his now-married friends and an encounter with an old flame are just the beginning. Jim gets his buddies in hot water with their wives after they seek vengeance on their former high school principal and nearly break up a wedding, which leaves Jim to wonder what could have been.
Michael Rosenbaum makes his feature directorial and writing debut with BACK IN THE DAY, a comedy where second chances can be the best first impressions. The film also stars Morena Baccarin, Danielle Bisutti, Liz Carey, Emma Caulfield, Sarah Colonna, Jay R. Ferguson, Mike Hagerty, Isaiah Mustafa, Kristoffer Polaha, Nick Swardson, and Harland Williams.

Elitist rubbish for the middle class, 25 January 2015
Author: holistic-5 from United States

I couldn't make it through this film, turned it off after 30 painful minutes.

Stereotypes run rampant through the film. The "average" guys are hardly average, they are glorified in all their mediocrity. Nobody in this film seems real. Even the film score is painful, hardly representing music from the early 90s.

The humor in this film is dull, really it is more for "successful" folks to laugh at the losers they knew in high school. Basically it is the writers' wet dream of going to their high school reunion to laugh at all those poor sobs who didn't have the opportunity to make it to the middle class. Shame on you.

The acting is woeful, the leads are basically movie stars trying to pretend to be normal Americans. What a joke.

None of the main characters are likable, unless you can really relate with them, in which case, I just feel sorry for you. Don't waste your time with this one.
