Did You Know?

The song that the young woman starts to sing throughout this episode (and which is sung in Spanish by a mariachi band over the closing credits) is "NYC" from the musical Annie. That the young woman is getting off a vintage Trailways bus the first time she starts to sing it is a parody of the section of "NYC" in which a character just named "Star-to-Be" sings, "NYC/Just got here this morning/Three bucks/Two bags/One me" - only instead of being an aspiring actress, the woman in this episode is an aspiring prostitute. Liz Lemon: You getting mugged just proves what I said to you on the phone. New York is a selfish, filth monster and it eventually gets all of us. It's Ghostbusters II all over again!
Jack Donaghy: No, me getting mugged is New York doing what she does best... calling a great man to action. It's the original Ghostbusters all over again!

The Tuxedo Begins (#6.8)
17 December 2013 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

Jack gets mugged and now feels that everyone is against him because lower class doesn't want to help him. Liz is upset because the city doesn't seem to want to follow rules and decides to be against rules herself. Jenna and Paul feel that they found a new fetish called "normaling" while apparently they are just becoming a normal couple.

A great episode with a Batman feeling to it. Liz's character is absolutely awesome here. Nice acting! And the scene of her and Jack on the roof is beautiful.

What happened with Kenneth, I thought they will have him be in a new job while he still seems to be a page.
