The last time we spoke to Spanish Composer Lucas Vidal he’d just finished working on the Henry Cavill / Bruce Willis movie The Cold Light of Day and John Cusack’s Edgar Allen Poe film The Raven but now the up and coming composer has been given the biggest film of his career in the form of Fast and Furious 6.

Following the acquisition of new Hammer horror 'The Quiet Ones' by Lionsgate UK a few months back the studios' American counterpart has carried out exactly the same buy up at this months Cannes festival. Lionsgate have picked up the North American distribution rights for the John Pogue ('Quarantine 2: Terminal') helmed chiller which stars Jared Harris ('Mad Men'), Sam Claflin ('The Hunger Games: Catching Fire'), Erin Richards ('Being Human'), Rory Fleck-Byrne and Olivia Cooke ('Bates Motel'). So that's the good news, however, you'll have to sit patiently now until 25 April 2014 before it'll be appearing in Us theatres. »

Lionsgate has nabbed the North American rights for the next chiller from Hammer, entitled The Quiet Ones, and they've already given it a release date! See how quickly things can move once they start cooking?
The Quiet Ones is inspired by true events and tells the story of an unorthodox but charismatic professor who uses controversial methods and leads his best students off the grid to take part in a dangerous experiment: to create a poltergeist from negative human energy. Ahead of the opening of the Cannes market, Lionsgate has nabbed North American distribution rights to Hammer Films genre flick "The Quiet Ones," a supernatural thriller starring Jared Harris ("Mad Men," "Lincoln") and Sam Claflin ("Hunger Games: Catching Fire"). Lionsgate has booked an April 25, 2014 release date. Hammer’s latest productions is The Quiet Ones and Lionsgate has just acquired it for release in North America. According to Deadline, a theatrical release is planned for April 25, 2014. Lionsgate previously acquired UK rights to the movie, which revolves around an experiment to create a poltergeist:

There's just under a week to go until the premiere of Bates Motel on A&E, and if you're still undecided about whether to catch Carlton Cuse (Lost) and Kerry Ehrin's (Friday Night Lights) contemporary prequel series to Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 masterpiece Psycho, then perhaps the first six minutes of the show will help you to make up your mind.

Ahead of its premiere next month, A&E has released a brand new trailer for the upcoming drama Bates Motel, as well as a four-minute extended look featurette from the Psycho prequel series.
Created by Carlton Cuse (Lost) and Kerry Ehrin (Friday Night Lights), the series is described as a contemporary prequel to Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 masterpiece, and "promises to give viewers an intimate portrayal of how Norman Bates' psyche unravels through his teenage years and just how deeply intricate his relationship to his mother, Norma, truly is."
Leading the cast of Bates Motel are Freddie Highmore (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Art of Getting By) as Norman and Vera Farmiga (Up in the Air, Source Code) as Norma, while other series regulars include Max Thieriot (House at the End of the Street), Nestor Carbonell (The Dark Knight Rises), Mike Vogel (Cloverfield) and Olivia Cooke (The Quiet Ones).
