Storyline

K.C. McCay is a famous actress-singer. Her impresario unsuccessfully tries to prevent her giving up her career to marry Jeffrey Edwards, a math professor. Jeffrey's roommate Hawley moves out so the couple can settle in their apartment on Campus in a small town of California. During a party at the Dean's house, K.C. is introduced by her husband to all the professors who openly disregard show-business. Jeffrey agrees with them which spurs the couple's first fight.
