Got a scoop request? An anonymous tip you’re dying to share? Send any/all of the above to askausiello@tvline.com

Question: I’m curious about the mention of a boyfriend for Arrow‘s Felicity (in TVLine’s Comic-Con video). She’s supposed to be so traumatized by Havenrock that she has pretty much shut down and is focusing on work as a vigilante, but she’s also dating? Seems odd. —Morgan

Ausiello: Yes, Felicity is laser-focused on keeping Team Arrow alive, in some (new) form. But as such, no one can fault her for welcoming, after a “long day, »

Why Emmys 2017 Promises Even More Inclusion

21 September 2016 10:15 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

When all was said and done and accepted, the 68th annual Primetime Emmy Awards went down easy, with voters serving up a mix of shoo-ins and surprises among the winners.

But the TV business is strapping in for a much wilder ride next year, when the playing field will be wide open, probably even more crowded, extremely diverse, and perhaps most significantly, free of dragons.

The potential for newbies to break through with nominations or wins next year is strong now that HBO’s “Game of Thrones” is sitting out the 2017 race. HBO has opted, at the behest of the show’s producers, to push the drama’s seventh season premiere to next summer, just outside of the 2016-17 eligibility window. The sidelining of the show that has dominated Emmy nominations and wins for the past two years will open up a vacuum that plenty of worthy contenders will fight to fill.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 4 Episode 1 Review: The Ghost

20 September 2016 9:18 PM, PDT | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

A long summer full of superhero blockbusters is at an end, which means it's time to welcome our favorite band of Marvel misfits back to the small screen. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is here for a fourth season, and this time, the show is touting the inclusion of one of Marvel's more recognizable heroes as a reason for viewers to tune in.

At least the show doesn't waste any time in introducing us to Ghost Rider, whose trademark flaming skull and car have monopolized the marketing for this season. In Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 4 Episode 1, we meet him in the very first scene – a madcap Los Angeles robbery that also includes our favorite rogue agent, Daisy Johnson.

While the fiery special effects that bring Ghost Rider's powers to life are surprisingly good for a network television show, I realized abut halfway through his first scene that pretty much of all »

Emmys 2016: 6 of the Night’s Most Exciting Moments for Diversity

20 September 2016 7:52 AM, PDT | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

Jill Soloway wants to topple the patriarchy. This is not the sort of thing you hear chanted all that often during an awards show, yet when Soloway won for her work on the “Transparent” episode “Man on the Land,” that’s exactly what she said.

By the way, the last time a man won for directing a comedy was Steve Levitan in 2012, for “Modern Family.” In 2013 and 2014, Gail Mancuso took the prize for her episodes of “Modern Family,” and in 2015 Soloway won for the first season of “Transparent.”

So the patriarchy might be just a little wobbly as it stands.

Jeffrey Tambor wants more opportunities for trans talent: As a cis male playing a trans woman, Tambor’s casting on “Transparent” has become an increasingly controversial element of the otherwise groundbreaking Amazon series, and this Sunday both he and Soloway addressed it head-on.

“I just hope there are more opportunities for transgender talent, »

68th Primetime Emmy Award Winners List

Last night was the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards, where the television academy takes the time to recognize some of the greatest accomplishments in the industry for the past season. Not surprisingly, the show that came out on top this year was none other than Game of Thrones, a show that seemingly only gets stronger and stronger as time goes on (despite the absence of source material at this point).

This also marked the year that Game of Thrones surpassed Frasier for the record total of Emmys won during a show run. Frasier previously held the record with 37 wins, and with two seasons left, Game of Thrones has secured the title with 38 wins, a record it's sure to barrel over over the course of the next couple seasons.

Below is the list of nominees and winners for several major categories at this year's Emmys!

Intelligence, soul, & superpowers: Netflix salutes powerful women

Netflix aired a very appropriate commercial during the Emmy Awards last night, where women ruled. Intelligence, motherhood, soul, superpowers, and more were praised. If you missed the big show be sure to check out Alan Sepinwall's review. But if you were watching live you probably caught this commercial in which Netflix applauded the women featured on the streaming service. The commercial also gave us footage from the upcoming American-British television drama The Crown from Peter Morgan. It's a 10-part series that features Claire Foy as Queen Elizabeth II and Doctor Who's Matt Smith as Prince Philip. Take a look... You know Netflix included Jessica Jones just so she wouldn't beat them up. Orphan Black's Tatiana Maslany's win for Best Actress yesterday also afforded her time to share a similar sentiment about TV saying "I feel so lucky to be on a show that puts women at the center. »

Emmys 2016: How the Awards Show Managed to Not Suck This Year

Now there's something you don't see too often — an Emmy night that actually makes good television. The Emmys are usually one of those pop-culture Zen koans: Why is an award show for TV such a painful little hate-watch? But this year's model was easily the most entertaining Emmy bash since Conan O'Brien hosted in 2008, a welcome change after last year's debacle. Jimmy Kimmel kept things moving and got the whole event done and dusted in three hours — with a minute or two to spare, actually. Yes, there was still plenty »
