When Cashius and Bugsy jump off the train: The "Confrontation at Trackside" scene was shot in less than an hour with a skeleton crew comprised of John Druska, Louie Iaccarino, director of photography Eddy Scully and producer Paul Straw.

When the Hurleys and Bugsy interrogate Levi White in the barn, Cashius refers to himself as the pied piper, Bugsy as the Grim Reaper and Winston as Michael the Archangel. These titles foreshadow the fates of the characters: Bugsy himself becomes death when he later dies, Winston is the one who ultimately confronts and triumphs over the evil Mayor McCall and Cashius leads his relatives out of River City to an unknown fate.
