...that one which came out last night! It's just another student-grade project. DAMN there are a lot of these! You'd think even the most clueless and untalented director/writers would start to suspect something when ONLY their friends, family, and crew find their projects watchable....that perhaps they might not be as genius-level as they hoped and prayed? Nope.
There are a lot of horrific genre films, but this one is especially bad.
Hypothetically, and also pretty damn often, any given film can still be totally dreadful and foul despite good/fairly-good/excellent actors, good FX, and a halfway decent story. Those things don't guarantee a brilliant project.
Yet, films like this suck at all those things TOO! There is literally no reason this film should exist, other then a project for school (1st semester, hopefully), and/or to be a learning lesson to be watched by those who have actual skill/talent. A sort of "worst case" scenario.
Sucking (even when it's pretty much in every way conceivable) isn't a crime! But attempting to pass it off as a and worthy project, standing behind it without shame, and being ignorant to the point where the praise of friends/family/crew actually squishes all introspection/common sense, ...should be.
