For Couples Who Are Idiotic
11 June 2015 | by (USA) – See all my reviews

The show brings an unconventional concept of the relationship to the forefront: unbridled love. We are not talking about love between two people but love between one person and two other people (partial attempt at real polyamory but good enough for television). The "other two" are a married couple or simply boyfriend and girlfriend. For some reason one of the two married couples have a son who considers his mother and father's girlfriend to be a parent. It is strange because the child will probably grow up having to awkwardly explain on dates why his mother and father raised him in an environment where half the people that live with him are not related to his person yet consider him to be their son as well.

There is nothing wrong with polyamory if none of the married couples have children but when kids are involved, the stability and normalcy necessary for a child's development is absent. Can a child handle conflicts between two couples whom he loves or believe the only type of meaningful relationship out there is between one person and a married couple? In most cases, polyamory is a short-lived experiment. It is not sustainable because factors such as jealously, outside affairs, betrayal and conflict can arise. Can you imagine being madly, passionately in love with someone else only to lose him to another person who is younger and more attractive? The cast members are not ideal role models for relationships. They would be if they matured and realized what's healthy in the long run for relationships.

In the West, people consider Tantra to be about sex and love. They forget that in India no such practice exists. Tantra is actually a rigorous spiritual tradition requiring celibacy and zero contact with the outside world. Therefore, the Western Tantra is really just a comical practice falsely promising spiritual enlightenment through coitus.

The cast member Kamala Devi does what a lot of self-proclaimed Hindus in the West do which is to delude themselves into thinking they are connected to and masters of Eastern mystic traditions. Everyone buys into it....literally, so they spend their hard-earned money on workshops that provide tips for achieving ultimate orgasms and saving their marriages. If a person really wants to save their marriage, would go to a "tantric master" for advice? Yes. It is most likely cheaper than seeing a therapist. FYI: If Kamala were to meet a real Tantra practitioner, she would gravely offend him.
