Bel is back at The Hour with gruff new head of news Randall Brown,a man with whom Lix clearly has history, replacing the jailed Clarence. Hector is still neglecting Marnie to frequent a Soho club which fronts sex parties and where he picks up actress Kiki Delaine though it is under police observation. He frequently arrives late for work and annoys colleagues with his cavalier attitude. Bel is both pleased and annoyed when Freddie returns from Paris, brought in behind her back to co-present with Hector, who has been warned he must improve or face the sack. Hector feels threatened by the younger man. ITV news programmer Bill Kendall, however,is impressed when,at a press conference supposedly to discuss civil defence, Hector and Freddie, using a document leaked by Hector's army chum police commander Stern, accuse the minister of shaving the much needed police budget to pay for nuclear weapons. Bel gets a shock when, visiting Freddie,he introduces her to Camille, his new French wife. Written by don @ minifie-1

The Hour Episode #1
18 November 2012 | by (Ireland) – See all my reviews

A new show is starting and there is a new head of the show. Randall Brown is the man in charge that Bel mus ask questions to. Just as the show starts in comes Hector to host the show. Bel misses Freddie and she tells Mr. Brown this. Bel does not like her new supervisor because he is messing with how The Hour is run. Hector meets with Angus at a club even getting his picture taken. Bel watches a video of Freddie before she leaves for the party. At the party before Bel leaves a fan of the show comes to talk to her. Hector does not return home and Marnie throws his dinner into the bin. When a new meeting in the morning is on in returns Freddie to The Hour. Randall then announces that Freddie will be the new co-host with Hector. This is a surprise to her because she was not told how her show would change. Freddie seems welcomed back by the staff but Bel is not as impressed because he did not tell her before. At a press conference when Freddie asks a question he brings up statement the minister had previously made and is unable to answer. When Hector goes to have lunch with his wife she seems mad that he is late. Marine wants Hector to go see someone because she feels bored being just a normal housewife. Randall calls Hector an alcoholic and tells him to watch out for Freddie. He ends by saying Hector will be kicked off if he does not get his act together. It seems that Mr. Brown is causing some problems between the whole crew of the hour. Bel is staying in but she is told to be more adventurous being her age. When Bel goes to celebrate Sissy's friend moving in she meets Freddie's new wife Camille which comes as a shock to her. Great return and the show seems to be taking a different approach.
