Storyline

Josef Shweik, a dealer in stolen dogs, is called up to fight in World War One. Once in the army the "idiotic" good soldier is imprisoned, certified insane, half starved to death, lost at cards, and almost hanged as he makes his reluctant way towards the front line and almost certain death. However, the good soldier has one final triumphant "idiocy" in reserve. Based on Jaroslav Hask's classic conic novel, The Good Soldier Shweik is a funny and moving anti-war 2D animation cartoon for those who like their humor black and their Christmases white. Written by Robert Crombie
