"I Was a Mermaid and Now I'm a Pop Star" is a 2.5-minute short film and another music video parody written by 2016 Golden Globe winner and also starring her, long before her biggest triumph. The one exception to her other music video spoofs is that this one also includes rap music parts. There are one or two funny moments, but I must say, Bloom usually does better than what she delivers here. Not really an entertaining video and even the "Little Mermaid" references stay a bit on the underwhelming side. Only worth checking out if you are a truly big fan of the actress. I am not saying this was weak, not at all. However, Bloom's other works are superior, some of them by a lot. Not recommended.
