In the opening, Avicena reveals she is studying medicine. Her name is a reference to Avicenna, an 11th century Persian philosopher who wrote "The Canon of Medicine", a groundbreaking summary of all the medical knowledge of that time.
Anamarija Stanic's character name is identical to 'Nefertiti (Character)', the eponymous 14th century BC wife of the Egyptian Pharaoh.
The scene where Avicena and Ivan meet Nefertiti in the café was lost when the camera stopped in the middle of transmitting all scenes to the computer for editing due to a battery failure. The director did not find out it was lost until the movie was already half finished with editing, but by that time the camera was already emptied of its footage since a different crew was about to use it. Due to job and time constraints of the crew, the director had to wait for three weeks in order to have the three actors back on location, on 18 January 2012, when the scene was re-shot.
The scene where Ivan (Bozidar Horvatic) trips while trying to rip a notebook from a girl who wanted an autograph from him was entirely unplanned. In the script, he was supposed to just rip the notebook and angrily walk away. However, Horvatic accidentally tripped and fell while trying to throw the notebook, and improvised by walking away. The director, Marin Mandir, found it so funny that he kept it in the film.
On the first day of shooting, it was so cold that the crew went to any nearby restaurant or pub to order hot tea as soon as a scene was filmed in an exterior.
