Episode cast overview:

After closing on the sale of a house to Mitch and Cam's friends, Phil and Claire take the two of them out for a celebratory dinner where they proceed to over-indulge in drinks, which leads to some over-sharing, and finally results in waking up the next morning hung over and begging the question - if you'll do anything for family, shouldn't there still be a line drawn somewhere? My mother. My aunt.
17 March 2012 | by (New York) – See all my reviews

The idea of helping a relative to conceive a child is at the center of this episode. The idea of hiring a surrogate mother to carry a baby is one thorny issue, to say the least, but the creators of this sitcom take another look at the problem in this chapter.

At the Dunphys, Haley and Alex are made to cooperate in cleaning the house for the company they are about to receive. The girls have no idea their mother has a sharp ear and can hear their thoughts. Phil is showing a house to a gay couple, friends of Cameron and Mitchell. During the tour of the place, Phil gets a phone call from Claire. Their exchange make the guys anxious about not getting the house, and they buy it, netting Phil a big commission.

Mitch and Cameron are envious of their friends Steven and Stefan. They have adopted a baby boy who was born from a surrogate mother they paid. Mitchell is sad thinking they are not going to be able to do the same. Enter Claire, who has come to see the guys. She offers her brother an egg to be fertilized with Cam's sperm. The combination will be great.

AT the Pritchetts, Jay is musing about what to do with Manny, his stepson. The boy shows all the traits of being neurotic by acting as though he is a grown man. At the end, he convinces the boy to play football, but on a moment of distraction, he is knocked down by one of the opposing team. The boy will sure have second thoughts about engaging in any type of contact sports.

Michael Spiller directed this hilarious episode. The screenplay is by Dan O'Shannon and Abraham Higginbotham. The fun never stops. The writing is one of the best things in the program, as shown on this installment, making the show the delight it is to watch.
