Insconsistancies and disappointment

I love this series, the gorgeous dresses, the wit, the sleuthing, the characters, the mystery. But as all the others they fell into this huge trap of making the story around previous dark intimate secrets of each of the characters. I loved the mystery about Miss Fisher dark past. It was her weakness, her charm, what made her a fighter. But then, of course, they just couldn't help but going into the non ending spiral of never ending chase of the never dead murderer... Further, the story doesn't hold when it comes to details, as mentioned in other posts in the forum. Anyway, in this episode what really disappointed me was that, they are just getting out of the ball, after everybody knows that Foyle might be around and Phryne is terribly worried. Jane has been seen last with a wolf, or may be we are the only ones who saw the wolf. But once she's been found by a distressed Miss Fisher, she is sent back home to secure her with two of the most naturally generally distrustful characters of the series. And then, here they are, trusting a complete stranger standing in the middle of the road in the middle of the night, with his wolf disguise. And Jane, usually so intuitive, opens the door to this complete stranger who was supposed to have left? Come on...that can't be. Really SO disappointing.
