Tyler Barnes

After Deb learns that she has sent forensic evidence to an outside lab for analysis, Captain LaGuerta confides in her that she found a blood slide at the site of the Marshall killing and believes the Bay Harbor butcher is still alive. The Captain accepts Deb's offers to help her in the investigation. When Dexter learns what's going on, he just wants Deb to stay out of it. Dexter finds blood on his boat and tests reveal it belongs to Louis Greene. He soon after finds he has to deal with Isaak Sirko who is clearly out for revenge. Dexter's plan to get him doesn't work out. Hannah McKay meanwhile has agreed to help find some of the bodies from her and her boyfriend's killing spree years ago. The remains of one of the victims tells him a lot about the assailant. Written by garykmcd

Harry Morgan: It never ends, does it? The maintenance.
Dexter Morgan: I don't mind it.
Harry Morgan: It's the one thing that never changes. The waves keep rolling in, wearing everything down in their path a little more every day.
Dexter Morgan: Harrison's coming home soon. I want to have the boat ready.
Harry Morgan: So life's back to normal?
Dexter Morgan: A new normal. Deb's not poring over the past anymore. We're on course, moving forward. Life can be less complicated now.
Harry Morgan: You don't believe that.
Dexter Morgan: Why not? She didn't abandon me.
Harry Morgan: She didn't accept you either. She ...

Sloppy Writing
1 November 2012 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

When Isaac is captured by Miami Metro, Dexter visits him in jail. That makes a record, since you have to show ID and sign in to visit a prisoner, and all uses of the visitor-intercom system used in jails are monitored and recorded. Bad for Dexter since he's not supposed to know Isaac and they discuss killings over the visitor phone. The writers of this show apparently have no idea how actual law enforcement works. In real life, someone like Hannah would never cooperate by showing police where victims are buried, but it's done here to advance the plot. Too bad the writers could not come up with a more realistic way to do it. There's speculation Hannah is interested in Dexter to make him a victim, but since everyone in Miami Metro knows what she did and sees her attraction to Dexter, they'd be pretty certain anything bad that happens to him will be her doing.
