Starman figures that someone is covering their tracks, and something big is going on. He angrily looks at the ISA painting, yells that they're mocking him, and blasts the painting with the Staff. He tells the others that they're going to find Gambler's killer and make them pay.
Later at the Whitmore house, Sly is trying to sleep but can't. He gets up and looks at the Staff in its case, then goes to the kitchen. Barbara says that she's grateful he's in her life and goes to bed.
The next morning, Mike is looking for cereal, and Sly comes in and says that he sorted everything in the pantry. Barbara, Pat, and Courtney come in for breakfast. Sly says that they came up empty-handed when they were in the tunnels, and he wants to go to one of Dragon King's nearby hidden labs. He invites Courtney along, but she declined and heads off to school, while Pat wonders why his stepdaughter didn't leap at the chance.
At school, Mike tells Jakeem that Sly told him that they should look for Dragon King. Jakeem doesn't want to and step out of his comfort zone. The couple say that they've been questioning people, and have learned that Gambler was paying off other people before he died. Pat tries to dissuade them, but Larry says that they're not going to stop, and being superhero has supercharged their sex lives.
At school in science class, Courtney comes over and asks Cindy if she wants to be a team with her. Cindy reluctantly agrees, and Courtney tells Cindy that she's been hanging out with Cameron. Courtney says that she knew Cindy wouldn't judge her and would give it to her straight, and Cindy says that she likes them as a couple and says that no one wants to hear how bad their father is. She tells Courtney that she doesn't want Cameron to feel like them.
Later, Mike and Jakeem approach Cindy at her locker and they tell her that she needs appreciation that the JSA isn't giving her, and she should join them. Cindy bursts into laughter and then says that it's never going to happen with her, and she walks off.

He says that when he told the JSA about Bruce Gordon, it split the original JSA up and they shouldn't do the same. Yolanda figures that Cindy isn't telling them everything about her father, and Sly tells her to go with her gut. Sly tells Yolanda to go with her gut, and Rick is working on the hourglass. Sly goes to the garage, and finds Rick working on the hourglass. Rick says that he can't fix it, and Sly suggests that it's the limiter. Rick wonders if he'll have super-strength all the time, and Sly warns him that Rex probably created the limited for a reason, then says that he'll be back the next day as he walks off.
Beth is at home reviewing Gambler's security camera footage when her parents come into her room. They asks how they can help, and Beth tells them they can help her the most if they stay out of her life as Dr. Mid-Nite. She tells them that it's dangerous, and if the murderer is out there, she doesn't want anything to help them. Beth asks them to stop entirely, and they agree and leave, disappointed.
