They Really Should Have Pulled The Plug On This Movie
2 December 2012 | by (Niagara Region, Ontario, Canada) – See all my reviews

I think we have a new champion. Ever since I saw "Battlefield Earth" many years ago I've been absolutely convinced not only that it was the worst movie I had ever seen, but that it might even be impossible to make a movie worse than that disaster. Well, I've been proved wrong. I've now seen "Waiting For Angels." It's hard to find words to explain how absolutely atrocious this was.

The story lacked any sense of cohesion. A man suffers a heart attack and his family and assorted friends begin to fight over his millions while he himself is in heaven (I guess) arguing for another chance. The family is utterly heartless, evidenced by one of them saying that they might as well pull the plug because he's of no use to them hooked up to machines. The family may have been more heartless than we even realized because in the hospital waiting room (where most of this is set) you're confronted with a background echo that's so bad that you can often just barely make out the dialogue - if you can make it out at all. Now, in fairness, that may have been a merciful act by the folks who were responsible for the technical side of this, since the dialogue I could make out was pathetic.

So the movie is a technical disaster with one of the worst scripts ever committed to paper. One can't leave this, of course, without mentioning the absolutely atrocious acting from everyone involved. Of course, when the biggest name in the cast is Robin Givens, that has to tell you something. This is absolute garbage. (1/10)
