Given the shocking lack of diversity at this year's Academy Awards and in the film industry at large, we asked a selection of independent filmmakers to share their thoughts on diversity in the film industry. Writer/director Hannah Fidell emerged from Sundance 2013 as a filmmaker to follow with her unsettling May-December drama "A Teacher." Her next film, "6 Years," also turns on a twisty relationship—though one far less taboo than the teacher-student bond seen in her debut. Premiering in South by Southwest's narrative competition slate this March, "6 Years" stars promising youngsters Taissa Farmiga ("American Horror Story") and Ben Rosenfield ("Boardwalk Empire") as two halves of a couple who've been together since high school. "Bound by ideal love," the relationship begins to "unravel as unexpected opportunities spin them down a volatile and violent path and threaten the future they had always imagined," per the fest synopsis. SXSW Reveals Features and Episodics Lineups; New Judd Apatow and Alex Gibney Make the Cut

Hot off the heels of this year's edition of the Sundance Film Festival coming to a close comes the full features lineup for the next major independent film festival, South by Southwest (SXSW).  The 2015 slate consists of a whopping 145 features, 100 of which will be making their world premieres.
