Storyline

This inspirational story follows the Nashville Rollergirls through the loss of their practice space, the move to a new game venue, injuries, relocation of key players, huge financial pressures, and even an epic flood. Ever the underdog, and with a burning in their bellies, the Nashville Rollergirls seek to prove themselves at every turn. And nothing will prevent them from achieving the goals they set. On a quest to succeed athletically on the national stage, and to keep their skater-owned-and operated organization afloat, the Nashville Rollergirls, in true Nashville spirit, refuse to accept 'no', 'can't', or 'won't'. And in true roller derby spirit, they bring 'do-it-yourself' to the next level. Written by Anonymous

A VERY pleasant surprise!

I wasn't quite sure what what to expect from this movie. I learned at the last minute that two of my band's songs had been included, and I decided (again, at the last minute) to drive up to Nashville and check out the movie. I was mesmerized. My eyes were glued to the screen from beginning to end. Listening to these women talk about how much roller derby had impacted their lives was spellbinding. Then, to learn what they have gone through to keep their sport alive was just inspiring. Finally, learning that they weren't even making money and were spending much of their own taught me so much about the important things in life and how something outside of yourself can have such a lasting effect on the lives of others who are merely "on the outside looking in." Including footage from the flood and describing how that impacted the women's dreams was a great move by this very talented young producer. If you get the privilege to see this movie, don't miss it. It will teach you so much about life and what's really important. I highly recommend this movie to young women everywhere. It will empower them while it inspires. A great, great, piece of work.
