The final scene.

This episode has some things that work really well. Despite the filler Chang/Pierce plot, some of the jokes are quite funny. The final scene makes this episode though. Just 6 characters looking at each other and yet we understand everything.

Good episode/ not fantastic

It was an okay episode about being clingy and love, jeff's speech at the end was what makes this episode good: "None of us have to go to anyone, and the idea we do is a mental illness we contracted from breath-mint commercials and Sandra Bullock. We can't keep going to each other until we learn to go to ourselves. Stop making our hatred of ourselves someone else's job and just stop hating ourselves." overall a good message

Blade Runner

Warning: Spoilers
The Pierce-Chang friendship (albeit brief) was hilarious for sure. Actually, I like the way the carnival location was set up, in a studio most likely. The Dean becomes more integrated in the Study Group by hanging out with Troy, Abed and Annie as they try to outwit Britta who is desperate to re-establish contact with Blade who works at the visiting carnival.

In fact, the Dean makes his first appearance (I think) in the Troy-Abed end credits, along with Jeff.

Cleavage contest

Warning: Spoilers
Annie wins. Besides the obvious wardrobe distractions this episode doesn't really go anywhere or do anything. Another lame Britta boyfriend. Another movie night in the Batcave. More cell phone hijinks. And a poorly tacked-on attempt to revitalize the air conditioning school story.

The carnival set felt really cheap too. Things like that make me worry that the budget is getting too tight to continue making good shows. Some of the earlier seasons' commentaries talk about overspending in one place only to have to make it up in another but this doesn't seem like the scenario where going cheap is the best plan overall.
