The Green Hornet (1966) (TV Series)
Westray mentions "The Green Hornet", referring to a courier who rides a green motorbike. The Counselor recognizes the 'cartoon character' from popular culture, that had originated in a 1930s radio program and has appeared in movie serials, a television series, comic books, and other media.
The Sand Pebbles (1966)
Still shot from the movie (with Steve McQueen as a sailor) seen in the refurbished nightclub.
Body Heat (1981)
Westray references the cautionary advice from Mickey Rourke's character 'Teddy' to William Hurt's character in the well-known neo-noir. The Counselor understands the popular culture reference and knows the film well: He quickly paraphrases a line of dialogue from the 1981 film:"This arson is a serious crime."
