Oh wow...

I had not heard about this 2023 thriller titled "Double Kill" prior to sitting down and watching it. But I have to admit with the movie's rather laughable cover, I wasn't exactly harboring much of any grand expectations. Yet, I opted to give the movie a chance, despite of it just having the deck stacked against it.

Right, well upon seeing the Maverick Entertainment logo on the screen, my expectations to this 2023 thriller went from almost none to absolutely none.

The storyline felt shallow. And I have to say that most of the scenes, in between some very abrupt cuts between the scenes, felt random and there wasn't really a particular sense of continuity or natural flow to the scenes. I quickly lost interest in the storyline because there just wasn't any proper contents from writer and director Joseph A. Elmore Jr.

I wasn't familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie, and that is actually something that I do like, so that certainly counted for something here. The majority of the acting performances in "Double Kill" were actually fair enough, however I can't claim that I was particularly impressed with anyone on the cast list.

The quality of the cinematography wasn't great, and the movie had like some odd blurry filter on it, that sort of making the images feel gritty and somewhat out of focus at times. It didn't work, because it gave the movie a low budget feel and an amateurish presentation.

"Double Kill" just looked and felt like an amateurish attempt at making a thriller.

I am not the target audience for the movies distributed by Maverick Entertainment, I will say that, as I have sat through maybe four or five such movies already, and each has failed to entertain me.

My rating of "Double Kill" lands on a very generous two out of ten stars.
