Translated into English from Filmkritikerna.se by critic Erik Fellman:
Bäst före (Best Before) 2013
Tonight's film tips is the Swedish film Best Before is a story about three men. We follow Bosse is nypensionerad and abandoned by his wife. Lennart who have blind faith in their own charm. and Anders, who is convinced that he has come up the next big idea for a television program. Now these friends decide to make a cruise.
Film critics discuss: Eric Fellman:
It feels like Best Before has passed its sell-by date a long time ago. The film feels like a silja line advertising flags. I like the three actors who play the main role, Brasse Brännström, Kjell Bergqvist and Goran Ragnerstam. I think they are both good and funny in ordinary cases, even in this film, it has its few moments when they get a laugh at.
But there the laughter out unfortunately, it does not feel like it will be something floating in the film but feels most stiffly from one stage to the other.
The film tries to be both a comedy and drama but fall short when they come to them both and become someone awkward mixture as a final product instead.
