Adam Sandler is going to be working with Harry Potter director Chris Columbus in developing a supernatural comedy called Hello Ghost, which - surprise, surprise - is a remake of a Korean film.
Sandler will produce and star in the film, while Columbus is set to direct it. The story centers on a man who, "after attempting to kill himself, is plagued by the arrival of four ghosts. They won't leave him in peace until he helps them amend their past by granting them one wish."
I've never seen the original film, but the Korean media company behind it are involved with it and will co-produce. Karen Croner (Admission) wrote the script for the remake. I hope it turns out to be a good film, it sounds like it could be fun. We'll see though, Sandler hasn't made a good movie in a long time.
Columbus is also looking to »

When Kristin Wiig hosted "Saturday Night Live" this season, one of the best sketches was a phony commercial for a new Disney Channel series in which Wiig plays a Korean water ghost who comes back from the dead to haunt her children and pressure them into doing their chores. Adam Sandler, who has "Grown Ups 2" shifting the cinematic paradigm later this summer, recently signed on to a project that is eerily similar, so much so that it's positively haunting.
Sandler will star in and produce "Hello Ghost," which will be helmed by original "Harry Potter" director Chris Columbus. The script, by "Admission"'s Karen Croner and based on a South Korean film directed by Young-tak Kim, concerns a man who, after unsuccessfully trying to kill himself, is visited by four ghosts. They won't leave him alone until he helps them grant one wish each.
The synopsis sounds like the »

Adam Sandler’s career may be at a crossroads following last year’s Razzie-winning That’s My Boy. The actor has long been a regular target for critics, but his last film – which paired him with former SNL star Andy Samberg – followed suit at the box office, bringing in a mere $36.9 million domestically against a $70 million production budget.
This summer’s Grown Ups 2 should lead Sandler to yet another winner, but – considering that it is an ensemble piece featuring fellow funnymen Chris Rock, Kevin James and David Spade – Sandler would be wise to carefully select his next few projects. He’s already attached to western comedy Ridiculous Six and a Candy Land adaptation, and by the looks ...

Sorry for that title, but it’s a fact – Salma Hayek is probably the only reason we’re all interested in the upcoming Grown Ups 2 movie! As you already know, Hayek plays Roxanne (you don’t have to put on the red light) in the whole thing, and as you’re about to see – she looks fantastic! Nothing to be surprised about, she’s (still) a fashion designer, right? Anyway, let me once again remind you that director Dennis Dugan stands behind the sequel to 2010′s boring Grown Ups, which is set to hit theaters on July 12th, 2013. To be honest, the movie has a pretty »

It's old school vs. new school when Twilight star Taylor Lautner squares off with Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, and David Spade in a clip from Grown Ups 2. While reminiscing at one of their childhood spots, these Grown Ups meet frat boy Andy (Taylor Lautner), who doesn't appreciate the guys eyeing up their ladies. Surprisingly, Taylor Lautner's shirt does stay on during the whole scene, but watch as he performs an overly-elaborate handshake.

When it comes to booking guest stars, the names don’t get much bigger than Adam Sandler and Chris Rock. The A-List comedians are taking the Disney Channel by storm, agreeing to guest on two Friday line up shows. They are Jessie and A.N.T. Farm. Prepare to chuckle.
On June 28, Chris Rock will appear on an episode of A.N.T. Farm titled “animal husbANTry”. Rock will play himself and will swing by as a father wanting very much to adopt a special pet for his daughter. I’m reminded of the time Rock voiced Rodney the guinea pig in the film Dr. Dolittle. How amusing would it be if a guinea pig was the pet the Rock family ended up adopting?
Following A.N.T. Farm, it will be Adam Sandler’s turn to appear as a guest on Jessie. Sandler is also playing himself and his episode is called “Punch Dumped Love, »

Fame is a fleeting fox that outruns most. Sometimes, notoriety outshines its own spotlight. Whether through the casting couch or blood, sweat and tears, the occasional performer will squeak through to the other side and achieve a modicum of accolades. Some are worthwhile, while others are unbearable. We all have that irritating nitpick of an actor who occasional, and suddenly, pops up in a movie just when the getting is good, and it swerves the car completely off the road. "Who invited this guy?" we ask ourselves, hoping s/he gets killed off before we have to get up out of our seat and ask for our money back.
It's a mild irritation, all things considered.
And then there's that very special group of actors who simply don't belong in movies at all. Yet there they are, begging us to watch them, vying for our attention before they are quickly »
