Entertaining and well acted but nothing groundbreaking...
I was originally sceptical about this adaptation but once I began to watch it I realised that I made a mistake. It was very good. The plots (although not always coherent) are good, the characters are well developed and the acting is brilliant. However, the procedural nature of the programme makes it easy for you to just merge the characters with their counterparts on any other cop shows- mainly The Mentalist. Another problem is that it has no unique features that you can only associate with it. By this I mean it has no unique visual style, no stand out dialogue or inventive plots. As I mentioned before I found this show is to interchangeable with The Mentalist- the smart; uncooperating, recovering from trauma and revenge seeking main character. The by the books, disapproving and grudgingly admiring companion and the plot of each episode is generic.
But I would recommend this above any other procedural show.
