Six Hundred and Forty-One Slates (2012)

*** (out of 4)

Don Swaynos directed this rather clever short that runs 1 minute and 49 seconds. What can you do in that amount of time? The title says you can snap a slate six hundred and forty-one times. I will gladly admit that I didn't actually count each time the slate was snapped but this is a very entertaining short that certainly gives one a respect for an editors job. The movie certainly isn't a masterpiece but it shows that the director certainly has a visual style and I think most film buffs are going to enjoy it for what it is. Again, there's nothing ground-breaking that happens here but Swaynos is certainly an interesting filmmaker and I look forward to more of his pictures.
