OK, so it's not the Betty Broderick story or Small Sacrifices or Blind Faith. Those seriously entertaining 90's TV movies Lifetime was known for airing. But, TalhotBlonde is better than what they've been airing this past decade. So much better, that this past Saturday night, my husband didn't make fun of me for watching it.
We've got lies, adultery, obsession and the internet! Granted, most of the movies on that channel have 2 or more of these elements, but as of late, they've managed to still be boring. Ex., the Wife he Met Online and the one about the teenage call girl, can't remember the title..just to mention a couple. Anyways, Talhotblonde takes these elements and puts them together to give me hope for future guilty pleasures from my once 6th favorite channel.
We've got a bored husband, a too busy wife, and an internet connection. You can see where this is going. And, it's based on a true story.
Laura San Giacomo as the wife is hilarious. Frumpy and no nonsense, she's worth the watch alone. Courtney Cox has a small role and if you wondered why like I did...the fact she is the director explains it. This is her first full-length film and seeing as I enjoyed it, kudos to her.
It's a fun, Saturday-night-at-home movie. But if you're married, it may make you hide the laptop from your hubby once you go to sleep.
