I wonder what "special" talent it takes to produce such a piece of CRAP!. What a shame on part of Indian film industry that this movie came out of it.... Sheer waste of time, money, attention, sight, fuel used to go to the movie, blinks, chuckles, breaths, blah blah blah... This review will avenge the wasted things... I swear to God, i haven't seen such a pathetic movie in my life till now.. Extremely poor acting, unnecessary songs, pathetic characters, stupid faces made by lead actors... Another point, extremely unrealistic fight scenes, these scenes are digestible if the story of movie is catchy...as in case of Singham... But this film has worst plot and those fight scenes made it the best "watch to suicide" movie.... Its making 100 crores....i wonder where sane people have gone for vacation these days....
Worst movie seen in recent times, complete disaster! Its not action,
neither comedy. It doesn't even have a good story line.
It doesn't even reflect the true 'Sikh' believes, faiths, customs. Not sure how it passed those tests......sucks!
I am not sure how stars like Ajay and other could even do this kind of movie. Sanjay - I can understand, that he can do such movies.
Dialogues have been repeated too many times than required. The movie has been interspersed with illogical and weird action sequences. Songs make one pull one's hair in dismay.
IMDb should have a 0 rating option for such movies! Ruined my Sunday Eve...!!!
Please do not watch it in theater ! Only grace was from Sanjay Dutt,
who did show some kind of acting but then story even made him look
Not sure why bollywood directs these kind of non-sense action flicks and why audience watch these things ? Music wasn't as good as normal bollywood flick. And what was that Po Po ?! Too bad.
Totally failed in creating humor and comedy. Script was too weak to mention.
All characters were like circus employees, beyond any fun limits.
One word - Avoid it !
Before reviewing this Ajay Devgan's produced action comedy, let me take
you into the probable backdrop of its making as it seems. In 2011-12,
Ajay Devgan bought the rights of S. S. Rajamouli's hit Telegu film
Maryada Ramanna which was also actually based on a silent Hollywood
film Our Hospitality made in 1923. But the problem was that it had a
plot revolving around a comedian character alone and hence was quite
difficult to adapt for the Hindi film audience to be a sure shot comedy
similar to Rajamouly's hit original.
Now working on this confusion Ajay Devgan's team thought of a sad but brilliant commercial idea of converting the whole regional village comedy into a Punjab based film with all Punjabi or Sardar characters as comedians. The reason being, that it was so easy and exciting to make an explosive comedy with all Santa-Banta kind of people fighting with each other on the screen like clowns. Further the genre with the added "Sardar" thing had its own commercial advantages both in the country as well in the overseas market as proved in the recent times repeatedly. So that's how the work on Son Of Sardar started, ready to exploit the rich culture and the lively people of Punjab in a funny manner just to earn some quick money bags by the team and nothing else.
Putting it differently, Son Of Sardar is a film which makes fun of the community in such an open, loud or confident manner that one may not even feel that there is something objectionable in it at all while watching it. At one end, Ajay Devgan keeps on praising the spirit of Sikhs, their pride in their turban and the teaching of their honorable Gurus with all the due respect. But on the other, the writer-director continues cracking sick jokes one after another on the living styles of Punjabi's, their ever-ready fighting spirit, their drinking habits and their other forcibly created confusions to generate regular laughter in the theater. To be honest, after watching the film even the Sikhs would be in a confused state that whether we should appreciate this kind of solid portrayal of ourselves on the screen or it needs to be opposed strongly. And that's precisely how Ajay Devgan must have got the approval from all those Sikh authorities the film was shown to, after agreeing to some cuts pointed out by them before its release very cleverly.
Moving on to the film itself, SOS begins in a totally commercial mood, with the title song followed by a long fight sequence in which you right away meet the Pathaan, Salman Khan entering on the screen to help Ajay. So all those claps & seetis can be heard in the first 10 minutes only in the theatre, filling you with a great energy. The pace continues for another hour and you enjoy the proceedings mostly before it says intermission. But the basic plot of the film is too thin to be stretched beyond a certain limit and therefore all you have in the second half is many well directed fight sequences in pure South style to keep you amused. Hence, SOS entertains you effectively in its initial hour but fails to do the same post interval due to its not so great story-plot.
So for all the true fans of action genre, it has a lot in store in its final hour as an essential feature of a Ajay Devgan project. But for the ones who wish to see a great enjoyable comedy, it gives you the same only marginally.
Another merit of SOS lies in its fresh pairing of Ajay Devgan and Sonakshi Sinha, who look very charming on the screen saying all those one liners with the Punjabi touch. Ajay's "Kadey Has Vi Leya Karo" and Sonakshi's "Chal Jhootha" work well with the audience almost every time they say it impressively. But its really high time Sonakshi thinks of doing some meaningful role in her chosen films. Ajay plays the mix of a comedian and an action hero well and he is going to be loved by his fans in a new avatar as a Sardar.
Sanjay Dutt as the strong opponent acts tough yet I couldn't get his confusing get-up thought of by director Ashwani Dhir. It was nice to see Tanuja on screen after a long time but Juhi Chawla sadly remains a cartoon character throughout. Vindu Dara Singh gets some good punches along with Rajesh Vivek saying "Silencer La Puttar" and Mukul Dev once again impresses in a film made around the Punjabi backdrop. Among the rest Arjan Bawa, Puneet Issar and Mukesh Tiwari do not get anything substantial to show up their acting skills.
In its musical department SOS gets a good support from its four catchy tracks composed by Himesh Reshamiya. But as usual all these tracks are simply added into the film without any need as such. Sandeep Chowta's energetic background score gels well with the feel of the movie and the superbly shot innovative action sequences are sure going to help it get some good response in the smaller centers
In all, made exactly on the format discovered by Rohit Shetty and Prabhudeva in their films, it will not be surprising if Son Of Sardar does exceptionally well in the coming days as projected. Because if Ajay's last comparatively weak film Bol Bachchan can surprisingly enter the so called '100 crore' club then SOS should also do that quite easily.

When I went through some negative reviews, I gave a second thought whether should I go and watch this movie in theater. But THIS MOVIES IS REALLY AMAZING AND FULL OF COMEDY. I really do not understand from where these negative reviews are coming from. I really loved the Sardar type unique jokes right from the start and the perfect Punjabi environment. But yes, few animations in the beginning of the movie is not up to the mark, which is fine. It has Dabang style fight scenes which is awesome. The timing of comedy between all the character are in very well sync. Overall I was very much satisfied with this movie. I recommend everyone to watch this movie and decide on their own rather than going through ratings or negative comments.
He waited 25 years for his return for a vengeance and when he returned
its full on entertainment by Son of Sardar. Son of Sardar is like a
smooth butter in a Punjabi Dal and taste extremely delicious and
mouthwatering and definitely not for diet or calorie conscious Janta
because this movie serves you an extremely delightful buttery menu of
laugh riots, peppy songs, supreme camera-work ,Jaw dropping stunts and
If a family feud and vengeance could have been funny than this is the only destination to watch for. Son of Sardar is extremely underrated by few media houses and SRK Fan Clubs on many social media sites, IMDb, RMH which would hardly effects the collections of the movie because it has all the ingredients of a delectable dish which a true gourmet (moviegoer) will always appreciate
Son of Sardar has no proper story very frankly and is based on a plot. The plot is about two rivalries of two families, an urge of vengeance, and a tradition of respect guest within home boundaries and absolutely love. This plot is further developed by an excellent screenplay by Robin Bhatt and Ashwni Dhir with a spicy tadka of fully enjoyable lyrical dialogues by Ashwni and foot tapping Punjabi numbers. . It's a pure potboiler of Ready, Singham, Dabanng regime and finding logics could disappoint you and flowing with the flow of the movie will entertain you.
Ashwni Dhir, the Director has done a pretty good job to develop the simple plot into an enjoyable ride. The Camera-work and the camera angles experimented along with cinematographer Aseem Bajaj is one of the best ever seen in bollywood regime especially for a potboiler which is the major strength of the movie and made Son of Sardar visually appealing. Stunt Director has done an excellent work
Performances, Ajay Devgan is supremely good as a Sardar. He is perfect in comical timings as well as intense scenes. Sonakshi is an eye treat, and here please welcome our Sanjay Dutt as one of the best enjoyable Punjabi villain you could have ever seen. Juhi Chawla is refreshing, Mukel Dev, Bindu, Tanuja all played well their roles perfect thou Tanuja ji's role as Sanjay Dutt mother is not properly developed.
At last, To all XYZ fan Clubs & Critics, Kade Hans Bhi Liya KarO ;) ENJOY

First and foremost, I would like to say I am a movie buff. I like all kinds of genres from Comedy to Drama, Horror to Romance. One think I would like to say is if you like only 'Art House' films then I would suggest you don't watch it. But if you're a movie buff I suggest you to watch it with your friends & family especially during festive season.Because in today's time its really hard to find a film which does not have any vulgar materials/scenes/jokes what you can't watch with your family in bollywood. The film starts in London where Jassi(Ajay Devgn) lives with his pathan friend Salman Khan.Jassi came to know that he has a land in India which govt wants to buy.He inherited that land from his father.but later he also came to know that his father had a fight with sandhu family. His father killed Sandhu families leading man & he killed Jassi's father.but he decided to go to India & sell his property & come back without getting noticed by them. But unfortunately he ended up having lunch with the Sandhu family in their own house. They came to know that Jassi is their enemy of whom they were waiting for years. But Sandhu family has a culture of not fighting with any guests while they are inside the house. So,they wait for Jassi to go outside of the house.Later, Jassi came to know about that.He does some funny things to stay as much as possible. There is a love story also goes with the flow.Sukhmeet (Sonakshi Sinha) meets Jassi in the train. She's the sister of Sandhu (Sanjay Dutt). Now I am gonna point out the positive & negative things:: POSITIVES : A wholesome Entertainer, A festive season Film to watch with Fnfs, Juhi Chawla (as Sanjay Dutt's 'mu boli biwi'),action sequences, Bichdann song, Salman Khan & of course Ajay 'Singham' Devgn NEGATIVES : A brainless humor which few 'artistic cinema lovers' don't like, 2 songs should be better(as Himesh was the Music Director) P.S - Don't fu**ing compare with JTHJ as both are diverse genres.
Lot of promotions and Ajay Devgn's previous hits had kept my expectation high. It did not turn out to be the way I expected. But it was not bad either. The movie largely revolves around the rivalry between two families and... Well sorry. As far as the plot is concerned, that is about it. This film, pretty much like what the trend is, relies on wire stunts which are live action version of many cartoon network programs. It was, till a few years ago, limited to Telugu and Tamil films. Then I realized that it is a remake of a Telugu film (No wonder). Fun filled good songs get over withing 1st 25 minutes of the movie and you will have nothing to look forward. Is SOS complete waste of time? No. It does make one laugh but not very often. Certain dialogs are well written and well delivered. If you are a fan of PJs you can give it a try. Editing could have been better. Wait till the film comes on DVD or till it premieres on TV. Paying Rs.250 (or more) for SOS does not look justified.
Nothing new in story line but presentation is good. Movie is very good till interval. Screenplay is good. Few scenes compel to laugh a loud. Dialogues are excellent. Action is innovative and good. Major drawback of this film is it's very weak love track. Climax depends upon love story but love is not shown so promptly. "GHAJINI" is the best example of strong love story and action revolving around it. Performance wise Sanjay Dutt is awesome. Juhi Chawala is also good. Ajay Devgan is fine. Sonakshi Sinha looks plump. Expressionwise she is justified but she should reduce some weight. One song "RAJA TU MAIN RANI" is good. Afterall, you can enjoy once.
Watched Son Of Sardar : first 2 hr's non stop fun & last half an hour
is also not bad. Salman Kkhan's 1st scene is unexpected.
I thought the son of sardar would be an angry men but Ajay Devgan came out with a funny character. Sonakshi played a parallel Character along with Ajay Devgan.
A man came back from abroad to sell his land but in the last he got a wife :). This is something i can't digest & here's the story unfinished. Over cunning shot's were there, like Sanjay Dutt put's a man by holding his legs in the earth, lol.
But overall movie is good.It will keep you laughing all the way with repeated Ajay Devgan's pet dialogue. Mukul Dev & Dara g played their roles properly. 1 more thing while movie running in the village they shooted in Mansa Devi's Backside Temple i.e. Patiala Mandir which sounds funny how come Mansa Devi temple is in Phagwara area.
