Worst. Movie. Ever.
14 November 2013 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

I have never written a review before but I felt compelled to do so as a public service announcement against this ungodly boring film.

I saw this at a film festival and it was advertised as a documentary, so silly me, I was assuming this would be a documentary about time. What it was instead seemed to be an experiment to see how long the director can make 109 minutes feel.

After the first stint of 15 minutes of footage with absolutely no music, dialogue or context, I honestly felt like I was being tortured and seriously doubted my ability to endure the rest of the film. The "interviews" are so short and uninformative they might as well have not been in the movie at all. Somehow about a third of the way into the movie it gets... "better" isn't the right word... but I was able to make it through after that.

I'll give it this, it certainly made me think about time a lot in that I kept checking my watch and thinking, "Oh my god what time is this movie going to be over?!" It made me ponder life and death as well, because I was constantly wondering if it was physically possible for a human to die of unrelenting boredom and had a renewed vigour for life having made it out of the theatre.

It's ironic that the film is called "The End of Time" because that is what you will be wishing for if you are forced to sit through this.
