Transpapa i have seen in Tbilisi International Film Festival 2013. This is film debut of German director's Sarah-Judith Mettke.
Film is about girl, Maren. Maren is struggling with puberty when her single mother tells her that her biological father has been living as a woman for some years now. Secretly, she travels to a suburban idyll in North Rhine-Westphalia in order to find him. There she meets Sophia, who is just as hormonally challenged and pubescent like herself - and would much rather like to be her mother.
We all know "Transamerica" (2005) which also is about "Trans Theme" and in this films also conflict is being only in family. And this situation is very lovely and cute. No special slogans and no vocation, just real life story. Very good performance had Devid Striesow, who plays Sophia. His character has good humor and that is very funny. All in all it was a very lovely film. Good luck, Sarah-Judith Mettke!
