Anachronisms

The story is taking place in the early 1980s (based on a real robbery that occurred in 1982) but the Armored vehicles used in the film are Ford F chassis that are too new for the time, having been 1995 or newer Fords.

Both letters that we see (Chris's letter from the NYPD and Tony's wife's letter about insurance) were clearly printed on an ink-jet or laser printer. In 1982, these letters would have been typed.

Factual errors

The size of the suitcase supposedly holding eight million dollars for the Columbians is far too small. It would take 8 suitcases the size of a Halliburton bag to hold 8 million dollars in hundred dollar bills.

The New York State License plate displayed on the Firebird was not released by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles until 2010. To be accurate for the period it should have been a solid yellow license plate with blue lettering. The plate featured in the movie is known as the Nostalgia series.
