Dramatic Reincarnation Film
mercadorandall10 August 2023
The film "Phases of the Moon" brings the mystical element of reincarnation to the forefront, and while this premise holds great potential, the movie's strength eventually becomes its downfall as the plot ventures into overly implausible territory in its later stages.

My outlook of the film would likely have been different if it wasn't influenced by my personal interest towards the cast, so it might not be for everyone.

In my personal opinion, I found the film enjoyable, and I believe it's worth considering if you're interested in a reincarnation-themed drama, despite its somewhat far-fetched moments.

A little too exaggerated Warning: Spoilers
While understand the filmmaker's aim at making a heartbreak, tearjerking movie.

But.. three reincarnations in a row? Excuse me, is she a powerful haunted spirit? The chemistry between two lead characters was odd. I don't see the deep love connection between them as she played him the entire meetings. That kind of love and relationship shouldn't have been strong enough to make a spirit keep coming back to life like buying concert tickets.

The dad is too dumb to understand what's going on even after being spooned fed of all the in formation. And the villain just simply got away and never got mentioned again after two murder acts. Excuse me?

This was kind of difficult for me to take this movie seriously.

Not worth watching.

Phases of the moon has some nice scenes but the overall movie is not really worth watching.

The character relationships are presented really well, but the characters themselves are 2-dimensional. The main character seems the most odd.

But to give credit where it is due, there is some mystery aspect that does make this interesting, but that alone does NOT make this good at all. I did enjoy trying to understand what was happening and the character's motives, but it did not last long where most scenes where dragged too much and made the scenes boring and somewhat irrelevant.

The worst part is how it ends, after dragging so much and introducing a decent explanation (although most viewers might find this farfetched) for the events of the plot, it ends abruptly and does not resolve anything.

I would not watch this, unless there is maybe an actor that you personally like in this movie.
