George Clooney's engagement to Amal Clooney was a surprise to many—including the bride-to-be! During an interview with Charlie Rose for CBS This Morning, the Tomorrowland star recalled the 2014 proposal, which was "completely unexpected" by his human rights lawyer love. "When I asked her, you know, we'd never talked about it....there wasn't like a, 'Maybe we should get married' [conversation]," he said. "I dropped it on her!" He popped the question at home, and had even "cued up a playlist" of some of his aunt Rosemary Clooney's songs. Amal (then Amal Alamuddin) surely appreciated the thoughtfulness of it all, but the whole will-you-marry-me »

Review: 'Veep' Season 4 Episode 3, 'Data,' Cans a White House Staffer

Last Week's Review: 'Veep' Season 4 Episode 2, 'East Wing,' Starts a Guessing Game Immediate Reaction: Not Dan! Not again! I mean, anyone getting the axe is better than Ben going down, but to see Dan put out of commission once more (last year he was put on leave after blowing up about abortion) was hard to watch. Of course, it would be hard to watch anyone be bested by Jonad of all idiots, but at least we know Dan has the lack of morals to get a new job no matter what. Plus, with the cyclical nature of politics, I bet he's back in Selina's camp by the end of the year (even if Selina's out of the White House, as the Onion so hilariously predicted).  Politically-Correct Reaction:"Data" built from nothing to a category five hurricane faster than Ben can run in heels. CBS Will Add More ‘On The Ground’ Reporting to ‘Face The Nation’

12 April 2015 12:12 PM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

CBS wants to add something extra to the ranks of the decades-old Sunday-morning talk shows: shoe leather.

Rather than turning to a veteran TV anchor with decades of hosting and interviewing under his or her belt, CBS said Sunday it would fill Bob Schieffer’s seat at “Face the Nation” with an operative with years of experience in longer-form reporting and analysis as well as traveling a beat.

John Dickerson, who will this summer take the reins of what is typically the most-watched among the nation’s Sunday public-affairs program, has logged years covering politics for Slate and Time magazine and has spent nearly 20 years in Washington covering the White House, Congress and economics. He authored a longform series on presidential attributes, which won the Ford Prize for Distinguished Reporting on the Presidency.

“I think ‘on the ground’ is a good way of putting it,” said David Rhodes, president of CBS News, »

‘The Jinx’ Director: ‘We Hoped Robert Durst Would Be Arrested as Soon as Possible’

Among the many questions raised by the dramatic conclusion of “The Jinx,” HBO’s six-part docu-series on suspected killer Robert Durst, was the issue of when law enforcement officials were made aware of the damning materials gathered by filmmaker Andrew Jarecki.

In Sunday’s finale episode, Durst appears to acknowledge his role in three murder cases that he has been linked to since 1982. The heir to a real estate fortune was arrested in New Orleans on Saturday in connection with the murder of his friend, Susan Berman, in Los Angeles in 2000.

“Killed them all, of course,” he says while talking to himself in a bathroom in a moment captured by the still-live microphone after he squirmed during an interview where Jarecki presents him with handwriting evidence pointing to his guilt in the shooting death of an L.A. woman in 2000.
