Thought Provoking....but.....
tfkpr29 August 2022
An interesting update on this long running sad saga. It's little wonder Mr Alfaed and the boys have struggled over the years with all the extra pressure piled on by the media and a BBC journalist who should have been jailed for fraud not elevated to manage religious programming.

I digress - feels like the programme but most conspiracy theories to bed - just left two unanswered questions for me.

Did HM The Queen really say "that" to Paul Burrell?.... And has she ever contradicted him or explained further? (And even if you can't bring yourself to interview the Monarch surely the Police can submit a list of questions to be answered?)

And secondly has some misdirection being going on pointing the finger at MI6 (via a all so convenient disgruntled employee?)....surely the UK has many other clandestine departments that get up to dirty tricks? Was only MI6 interviewed?

Other that that I felt the producers did a good job of tying off many loose ends and we can rest easy!

"No one is above the law"

Warning: Spoilers
That line made me laugh out loud . Clearly the royal family and prince Andrew are . Down with the monarchy . Antiques of a past time and it's ridiculous they exist in this era . I don't know if Diana was murdered and this documentary didn't answer that question ....

I just know we don't need these ppl in 2022.

Andanson
hilaryjrp28 August 2022
This was a very good series, bilingual French/English. This bilingual fact makes for the series' most compelling statement, by Lord Stevens. In the final episode, he asks how an investigation is done so many years after the accident in territory under the jurisdiction of England's closest ally.

A French documentary, totally French, done by the French investigative journalist and true-crime specialist Karl Zero takes the focus into the countryside, where James Andanson was found dead. I almost wished I hadn't seen it, because then "The Diana Investigations" would have convinced me it was--as (French) Brigadier Leader Monteil (sp?) repeats at least twelve times--a "banal" car accident.

As another review says, this is a very good documentary series, but it won't change conspiracy theorists' minds.

Interesting Documentary
TC-Batsy27 August 2022
In this documentary, each person gives his or her perspective on the tragic car accident that claimed the life of the most photographed woman in the world inside that tunnel in Paris 25 years ago. Whether Princess Diana's death was just an accident or a conspiracy, it's up to individuals to decide based on the facts and evidence presented by French and British experts, who spent years and millions of dollars to investigate that case and get to the bottom of what happened on that fateful night.

This is a very interesting documentary for fans of unsolved mysteries and crimes, it also sheds light on the events that took place prior to the incident and those who knew Diana and her new companion.

whickedly well...

Told , in many words and tounges what happened or really really happened that night late august 1997. Its conspiraciously made, just to eject our nematopodic sensors of sensationalism, and it doesnt give you a clear answer to anything, the only thing that stands out as a fact is that diana and dodi and mr paul , the driver of the black mercedes has passed the mortem threshold, and may they rest in peace.

I think that this accident was of such a magnitude that everyone could tell where they where and what they did at the moment they heard about it.i , the grumpy old man hung in a ladder finishing the frames of my new kitchen window, listening to the radio.

When the twin towers where attacked i was making my cars interiors shine like a diamond when being alerted by my neighbour who almost fell outta the window of exitement/shock screaming ''theyre bombing new york''...

well join in yet another diana investigation, i did have hope they had more to reveal, anyway its well made and worth your time.

Won't make conspiracy theories go away
PubChampion20 August 2022
I normally listen to documentaries while doing something else around the house. The first 2 episodes you have to actually watch. This is because talking is done mostly by the French and the translation is only by subtitles. These 2 episodes are about the investigation done by the French police.

The next 2 episodes are about the Stevens enquiry and talking is done mostly in English.

All the key figures on both sides of the Channel are interviewed. At first it looks like you'll be getting a comprehensive answer to all questions. However, towards the end I couldn't help feeling that there are gaping holes that are not properly covered, whether deliberately or not. The French just dismiss questions left open by their investigation out of hand. And the British united front about the conclusions of the Stevens enquiry just reeks of a cover-up. The end result is that instead of making the conspiracy theories go away this series is likely to boost them.

"It's very difficult to defeat a conspiracy theory"
creatingophelia24 August 2022
Very atmospheric show. Really well-made. There are subtitles in the first two episodes, but I found it interesting to hear the French perspective before the British police come in. Do we need another Diana documentary? Yes actually, as long as so many people still think she was murdered. This series does its best to set the record straight. Highly recommend.

Very biased narrative
oli-jwright30 August 2022
Disappointed to see this follow such an illogical and biased narrative. It is in the public interest that we know what happened to Diana "warts and all".

Rather than present the facts this documentary pushes you very hard towards a particular conclusion. The summary at the end is completely at odds with the facts and all sorts of bizarre details that have never been explained.

The documentary relies a lot on interviews especially police interviews. Their claims are never followed up with hard evidence an omission which is presumably deliberate. The producers' primary focus seems to be to dismantle any possibility of wrongdoing rather than report objectively.

I would still recommend watching this series but viewer discretion is certainly advised. There is a lot of misinformation presenter and viewers should certainly be alert to that. Parts have all the characteristics of a government sponsored broadcast.

The reality is we will never know what actually happened to Diana. However, the public should at least be told the facts of the case. It isn't for a documentary to triage the facts and pick and choose what information we should or shouldn't be told.

RIP Diana. You will be forever in our hearts.

Best Diana Documentary
doruk-972638 November 2022
If you are a Diana fan like me, you should definitely watch this documentary. It was a very gripping and exciting documentary. It allows you to look at things from a wider perspective. Everyone told the story from their own side, from the side to which they were loyal. It allows you to look at things from many angles. Watch and let everyone watch. But of course, the Diana affair will always remain a mystery. I still think some things are hidden. The conspiracy theories shown in the documentary were absolutely chilling. But of course, whether it's theory or not, you decide. Don't forget to take a beer with you while watching.

The Lesson Here: Obey the Speed Limit
leftbanker-126 August 2022
Blaming the photographers is like blaming the water when someone drowns. The paparazzi are part of the most honorable profession on earth: hounding the rich and famous night and day. All of the morons criticizing the press and blaming them for her death are the same idiots who consume the gutter press. I never spent a penny on this trash because I didn't care a bit about the life of some half-wit royal, a class of people who should be eliminated. I can't believe countries still have monarchies. It's sickening. All men are created equal. Period.

I'll say this, had the royal hag run over my child as they tore down a Paris street at over 100 mph, I would have beaten everyone in that car to death with a tire iron. They were photographers, not terrorists chasing her car. The driver was drunk. So what? French drivers are used to driving half in the bag. Why didn't the people's princess tell him to slow down? Speed limits are for everyone, even some creepy rich couple who don't want to smile for the camera. They have no one to blame but themselves.

Just because a lot of stupid people believe that this was anything more than a traffic accident means nothing at all. The reason I rate this so low is that this "investigation" hardly presents any facts in the case, and it was a fairly simple case. A car was speeding down a city street at over 100 mph and ran into something very solid (they didn't even mention what the car struck in this horrible "investigation").

This woman was no medieval saint as she is so often portrayed. She was just the product of wealth and the horrible British class system who married into royalty. She became famous yet had nothing in the way of talent or accomplishment, and in the end, her fame brought about her end...because her car was going 120 mph down a city street. She's only lucky that she didn't kill and innocent people just trying to make it through their day.
