Low budget indie horror can always be a gamble, especially horror comedy, but Slice? It actually pays off.
Frankly, it is worth it just to watch Gregory Alan Williams chew the scenery and steal every scene they are in.
Writer/Director/Actor Pierre Edwards also delivers a solid performance that is definitely loads of fun. Far too often, in cases like that, the entire film suffers from the split attention, but here? It works.
The rest of the acting is a bit hit or miss, as one might expect, but this is a fun little film that punches above its weight class.
Now, this isn't a film that will become a genre classic. It isn't Citizen Kane or the like, but if you go into it with a full understanding that this is a low budget, indie film, I think you will be quite presently surprised.
