The Bling Ring (2013) More at IMDbPro »

The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

4/10

In a scene a few young women are seen in their bras and panties, several revealing outfits, bikinis, and cleavage-bearing low-cut tops.

On one occasion, a girl dances around a pole in Paris Hilton's house, but only as a joke and in a non-sexual way.

Some kissing between teens is shown.

A man and a young woman (at least 18 years old) are shown to be dating and kiss on several occasions. In one scene, the girl gets into bed with the man, and they are implied to have kissed passionately as their feet move.

Violence & Gore

3/10

A car crashes into the side of another car and we see the driver of the second car being photographed at a police station (she has a bruise on her forehead and she was under the influence of drugs and alcohol).

A teen girl is arrested and she yells and cries as police put her in handcuffs and take her away.

A teen girl climbs through the bedroom window of a sleeping man and dances on his bed while holding a gun; he grabs her and pushes her on the bed (please see the Sex & Nudity category for more details) and the gun discharges accidentally (no one is injured).

A teen girl finds a handgun in a house she is robbing and she waves the gun around toward a teen boy, who tells her to stop, but she doesn't and he becomes frustrated. (It's a really tense scene as we don't know if the gun's loaded or not)

Teens, many times, are shown robbing celebrities' houses and stealing from parked cars. Surveillance footage is shown and they later sell stolen goods (money, clothes, shoes, underwear, prescription drugs, cocaine on one occasion) as well as flaunt them to their peers.

Profanity

6/10

20+ f-words (1 in text), 20 uses of "shit", 10 uses of "bitch" (1 in text), 1 anatomical term, 13 mild obscenities, 1 religious profanity, and 33 religious exclamations (all but 2 are mild).

Name-calling (loser, perv, rat, dropout school, sick, hooker, slut, insane).

7/10

A teen girl is arrested for drunk driving and says that her DUI levels were "off the chart" and that the police had "no idea how [she] was driving, let alone still alive."

Lots of smoking and drinking throughout

Cocaine is used a few times

3/10

There is some suspense and a few intense scenes, namely when the teens rob houses and the police arrive. One suspenseful and sudden scene involves a car accident due to the driver's inebriation (no one is harmed).

In an interview, a teen boy discusses how his self-loathing, his low self esteem, and peer pressure encouraged him to partake in several crimes.

There is a strong irony that is depicted in this society's obsession with celebrities, as it is depicted somewhat satirically and humorously at times.

Older teens engage intensely in reckless behavior.
