Spartacus realizes his racially divided troop is neglecting its defense, proves it with a mock Roman surprise attack on the temple ruin and finds a way to get his men training and bonding, through competition and wine. Unexpectedly, Varinius arrives to 'relieve Glaber' just when Ashur has located Spartacus's lair. Ilythia informs Seppia that Glaber had her brother murdered to turn her rival into a weapon against him, but at the last moment saves and apparently reconciles with her startled husband. Written by

After Varinius tells Glaber that he must return to Rome, Glaber tosses his goblet into the pool. The pool floor is covered in paintings of bones and bowls. The goblet lands perfectly atop the "phallus" of a painted skeleton. See more
When Seppia swings a clay jar at Glabar's head he is clearly seen holding his arms up to his face in defense. However in the very next frame when the jar makes contact with his head his arms are down at his side. See more
