Fantastic documentary about a riveting case of corruption and murder
14 May 2014 | by (San Antonio) – See all my reviews

The West Memphis Three case is almost like a movie itself. Three eight year old boys murdered in a small town in Arkansas. The police relate it to satanism and track down three teenagers that could be possibly linked to those activities. he three are arrested and tried with two of them getting life and one on the death penalty. Then years go by and the evidence adds up that these three teenagers were wrongfully imprisoned and that the real killer is still out there. A lot of drama is involved and that's what makes the documentary excels at: informing and captivating.

The documentary covers the case from the start so even people just learning of the case can catch up. Then it concentrates on the three teenagers now adults trying to be set free only to be derailed by persistent ignorance, corruption, and greed. It's so fascinating and captivating that the running time isn't a factor and you become immersed in it. It covers new ground as well following what these people have done since the trials in 1994. It never loses sights on the dilemmas for these three men along with focusing on giving justice to those three murdered boys as well.

Overall, it's a fantastic documentary that informs and captivates on a brilliant level that packs in suspense, intrigue, and most importantly emotion.
