Sex & Nudity

  • It was believed that a murder victim was probably gay or involved with a row over a prostitute. The original investigation centred around his sexual proclivities.
  • We are told that one of the original investigators shagged Steve's ex-wife, leading to the end of his marriage.
  • Gerry was talking to prostitutes, part of the investigation he says, and was arrested for procuring.
  • One of the characters was involved in underage sex when she was younger, we are told.
  • In the past some underage offenders were asked to "entertain" gentlemen, in exchange for making their charges go away.

Violence & Gore

  • The victim was beaten to death.
  • Steve admits to having been suspended for punching out a detective who slept with his wife.
  • Gerry is hit over the head and knocked out by an intruder.
  • A man advances on Gerry and Steve carrying a sawn-off shotgun but is scared off.
  • Gerry punches a suspect in the face, knocking him to the ground.

Profanity

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • On arrival in Scotland, Steve asks Gerry if he wants a "malt (whisky)". He replies "Anything large". They have one together. Gerry is woken the next morning, still fully dressed with a glass in his hand.
  • At the end of a day's work Gerry says he could "murder a pint". Eventually Gerry offers to get some whisky. The next day, when Steve wakes him, he congratulates him for making it to the bed this time.
  • Two of the characters were involved in drink and drugs when they were younger, we are told.
  • Gerry occasionally smokes when he is out of the office.
  • Some of the team meet in the pub and discuss the case over a beer/whisky.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • There is a theme involving underage prostitution. Although this is discussed, rather than seen on screen, it is still very confronting.
