Masterful writing, editing, and directing.

This episode's hilarious use of a documentary format really stands out in a season that is chalk full of memorable episodes. This episode was made at a time when Community was way over budget and yet very creatively ambitious. It uses these budgetary restrictions to its advantage, giving it almost a bottle episode feel.

I give this episode a 10/10. Not because I think it is objectively perfect, that's just how much I love it personally. Go watch it! That's all I can say.

One of the best episodes yet!

The whole thing is great. Britta's clumsy tries to take a good photo, Troy and Abed's fight, the document format, voice over, that ridiculous map. And to top all that off with Jeff going to get the hats and then actually looking for them. GREAT.

Pillows and Blankets and Troy and Abed

Warning: Spoilers
This episode is a homage to Ken Burns and the narrator is Keith David, who joined the Community cast in season 6 which was a season that should have gone longer.

Anyway, thankfully Troy and Abed kiss and make up thanks to Jeff's invisible magic hats which he really retrieved from the Dean's office for authenticity to the friendship.

Community at It's best

Community deals with concepts which are well designed which creates unique story lines. In this documentary style episode it gives the writers to make a funny yet adds complexity to Troy and Abed's relationship.

Good concept, poor execution

I like the series and loved the paintball episodes. This time, they have a good concept, but it just fall short - just not funny. Troy and Abed for some reason evolved into characters who were goofy best friends and then somehow are not able to navigate a dispute and turn into enemies. Subplots about Jeff and Annie and Britta's bad photography are the only saving grace of this episode. Overall it was something that I wish the writers would have read and then gone back to the drawing board to refine. I thought this episode was just a big swing and a miss. Based on the overall score this episode has been given, it appears my sentiment is in the minority. So be it, it just was not for me.
