- I took a 9 year and 12 year old boys. The 9 year old was pretty troubled by the cruxifiction scene, more the soundtrack than the images. No lasting damage. Frankly, the bible story isn't sweetness and light and I thought this part of the film was well judged - it's supposed to be troubling (but not traumatising!). If you have more sensitive children than my rugby playing boys you might think twice about a cinema visit where the soundtrack is full-on. If it goes to DVD then it should be okay, attenuating the volume will take the edge off for the younger ones. The 12 year old was fine with it.
