Storyline
A young boy asks his pregnant mother if he will like his baby brother, and he asks her if she has a brother. This sends the mother, Lisie, on a reverie of her relationship with her older sister, Aurora, when they were kids and their mother was dying. Flashbacks show the contrasting reactions of the two girls, Aurora's anger and Lisie's innocent determination to find her mother. The boy's questions also prompt Lisie to visit Aurora and to tell her a story. Written by

Short films are a crucial part of the film industry. Not only is it practice for upcoming feature length directors, but short films involve skill in order to tell a story in a short amount of time. It is always exciting to see filmmakers who are already accomplished in the world of cinema take on short films.
What makes "When You Find Me" a successful short film, is the feeling that it would easily fit into a feature length. Short films are supposed to feel like a sequence of a feature, and still acquire a beginning, middle, and end; along with character change. This film does just that.
It also accomplished the purpose of making a short film that shows off Canon DSLR cinema cameras. Canon provided its prototype of the C300, along with their prototype zoom lens. With the C300 having a full frame 35mm sensor, it provided Bryce Howard and the DP with beautiful images to work with. This film is also an inspiration for indie filmmakers using cameras such as the full frame 5D and the crop sensor 7D and 60D.
Director, Peter Jackson, did a similar approach to test out the RED ONE & EPIC cameras before using them on "The Lovely Bones" and "The Hobbit."
Even though "When You Find Me" is a promotional stunt for Canon, it is one of the best short films circulating online.
