Plot Summary

  • Film student Seth Fulbright is working on his senior project when he returns home to witness his parents declining marriage. His father is disillusioned after a recently lost election for congress, and his mother, a highly acclaimed grief counselor has begun to smoke lots of marijuana after a recent car accident. While struggling with his own failed relationship with Kate, Seth takes an interest in a witty political science major, Jeannie Day.

  • Seth Fulbright is a film student working on his senior thesis. While dealing with a broken heart he becomes interested in Jeannie Day, a razor sharp political science major who is acting in his film. Seth works with his childhood friend Paul Ansel to produce the project, and Paul nearly lost all his hearing from a horrifying episode of child abuse. Despite witnessing his parent's declining marriage and his father's disillusioned outlook after losing a run for congress, Seth finds the courage to move on and finally feels comfortable with the past.
